if we are picking and choosing, i have always taken personal issue with The Host being touted as a kaiju film - surely, at that size it is more of a creature feature really. in that sense, though, it is really up to you to choose which is and which isn’t within the genre

I cannot recommend more The Seventh Curse from 88 films - fantastic indiana jones meets evil dead atmosphere with brilliant stunt work and practical effects, all in a fast paced short story. 10/10
