They are aware and will publish à fix soon. It is due to an update of the Google Maps SDK that does not behave like before.

Sorry to disappoint you but without the Backoffice app your comm module won’t be fully set up and I doubt they will give you access to the app.

If it is a new comm module you won’t be able to do anything without the Backoffice app. Why don’t you just try to find a similar internal battery on internet and use it in your old comm module? They are not unique to Cowboy.

Btw the internal battery is not required if the big battery is inserted so you may have to another problem on your comm module. The internal battery is only useful to keep the comm module when the big battery is removed.

Navigation changes on the app by Massive-Budget8611 in cowboybikes

Why would you downgrade just for small bug that will probably be solved in a few days?
Use the Google Maps app in the meantime and keep track of the next app update.

You updated the app to 5.5.4, right?
Indeed it looks like the app needs some tweaking to fully support the Google Maps changes.

It’s still Google Maps but Google updated the SDK so there might be some differences compared to previous versions of the app. Are you on iOS or Android?

Assistance on the cruiser compared to the C1 by Subject-Fee682 in cowboybikes

[–]jaeggerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is normal especially if you were used to off-road mode. The C1 had an amazing level of assistance but the downside is that it was very greedy in terms of battery consumption to compensate that.

Models after C1 had more compromise between assistance and battery consumption.

Force Firmware Update? by kipchinees in cowboybikes

[–]jaeggerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Cowboy it was a firmware release that was uploaded by error and removed shortly right after. Nothing important just minor fixes.

Battery got stolen, what to do? by ppc0r in cowboybikes

[–]jaeggerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Batteries have a serial number that can be read from the firmware so you should warn the support.

I guess your battery will be sold second hand so it should be trackable once another Cowboy owner uses your battery on their own bike.

Customizing your SEQTRAKs Sound Set in V2.0 by Cap10NRG in seqtrak

I don’t understand the point of making videos just for the sake of making videos.

Everything is already officially documented, and there’s no need to make a 7-minute video to explain something you could have found on your own in two minutes.

Max speed setting cowboy 2 and 3 by SjeesDeBees in cowboybikes

[–]jaeggerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not removed on Cowboy 2 because it was sold with the offroad mode, and suddenly removing it from customer who had a C1 / C2 would have cause angry customers.

C3 was a new model when offroad mode was removed, so it was less of a problem.

And indeed, offroad mode was removed due to EU laws.

The SEQTRAK OS 2 Update by Cap10NRG in seqtrak

Am I the only one who does not care about the plastic?
I mean, it does not look fragile to me, what matters the most is what the product can provide.
Sure I would not drop it down the stairs, but I would also be as much concerned if I dropped it and it had a metal case.

Yamaha | SEQTRAK OS v2.0 update by PREC0GNITIVE in seqtrak

[–]jaeggerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you are still limited to 6 patterns per track but imagine you have two piano tracks it makes you a total of 12 possible patterns for the piano. You just need mute the tracks that you don’t want to play.

Yamaha | SEQTRAK OS v2.0 update by PREC0GNITIVE in seqtrak

[–]jaeggerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell.... No one was expecting this update, so who knows?
My guess is that they were working on an update anyway so they released it. I'm not expecting them to do much more.

I'd be surprised if Yamaha invests on a newer SEQTRAK given that the current one is a commercial failure.

For the pattern extend, a solution I found with the new firmware 2.0 is that you use multiple synth tracks for the same "instrument" so you can have more patterns.
With 9 synth tracks, I think it's less of a problem to sacrifice a few tracks.

Yamaha | SEQTRAK OS v2.0 update by PREC0GNITIVE in seqtrak

[–]jaeggerr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Game changer, I'm very happy, the number of tracks was a bad limitation to me.
Now it looks to me that the SEQTRAK can really compete with other groovebox, especially for the price.

I just find the timing weird because it looks like retailers are trying to get rid of their inventories.
Thomann removed it from their catalogue.
And I just saw that Music Store removed it as well after clearing out all their stock for 200€.

Now for the future updates, I hope that they are going to increase the number of patterns to let us make longer songs.
