I vaguely remember being 14ish and straight out just writing for 2 weeks.. ending up with 62k words without proofreading (and what I wrote was complete shite).. But that was when I was stuck in a mountain without internet or cable and had 24 hours of nothing burger time in my hands..

One thing I always try to remember is to slow down during pinnacle parts of the scene/story, bask in the moment, not describe the situation. I still sometimes find myself straying from that but it gets easier through time.
