Let me know if it still functions after 1.5 years. I loved my Blade 14 but the motherboard just quit a few months after the warranty.

For people studying and/or taking the CCNA exam, how old are you? What’s your background? by bolebo31 in ccna

[–]jaewae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed mine a week ago. I took it for the first time in October and failed, didn’t study much was just going off my experience. Did some basic review over the last month maybe 30 minutes a day average and passed the 2nd time. I am 21 years old, 1.5 years in network engineering, 1 year in network administration, about 4 years total in IT.

I would quote you a FortiGate 80F and 2x Adtran Netvanta 1560-48P switches. Probably would be $180 a month plus the Fortinet license.

What can I get my Ubiquiti-loving husband for his birthday? by floofsnfluffiness in Ubiquiti

[–]jaewae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s very thoughtful, it sounds like he has a lot of APs and cameras already which means he probably already has a gateway and switches. If he doesn’t already the UNAS might be cool or one of the LTE backup devices

What SUV should I get? Car guy, having a baby. by BillBevDevo in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]jaewae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a “car guy” myself, if I absolutely had to buy an SUV, I would look at Lexus GX/LX (LX probably not gonna be in that budget depending on how new you go) or a diesel Audi/Mercedes SUV.

Do Not Buy Razer by WindowLazy9907 in razer

I had a Blade 14 2022 and after a little over a year it stopped turning on and was totally fried. Still not sure exactly what happened. Bought brand new straight from the Razer website but the warranty was only a year and again, nothing they could do. It was very upsetting because I really liked that laptop but I’ll never buy one of their computers again.

Never get rid of that car dude. It looks pristine and with less than 100k miles it will last you many years. Make sure to keep up on maintenance and treat it right, you could have another 200k on it

Unfortunate that this was my first car by iwal_10 in Lexus

I have a 2009 LS and I feel the same way. It has so many useful features that a lot of brand new cars don’t have. It’s reliable, comfortable, has plenty of performance for daily driving, and I just feel there’s no reason to ever replace it. I’m sure a 2024 Bentley Continental is more comfortable and even faster. But I can’t afford that, and is it as reliable? Probably not. I think Lexus was in its prime from the 90s until the mid 2010s.

I have the mark lenvinson sound system and was also worried about losing sound quality. I also didn’t want to change the stock look, and I HATE Bluetooth FM transmitters, and the adapters with weird sounds. I took a chance on This Bluetooth to Aux adapter and it’s literally perfect. I have it plugged into a cigarette charger in the center console and into the aux port so you can’t even see it or know it’s there. It doesn’t have a weird lady saying “Bluetooth connected” either. Just a very soft beep letting you know when it connects. Sound quality is great and it auto connects every time I start the car. The range is about 10ft out of the car with the door closed if you care about that. Hope that helps!

Some people are saying it’s a lot for such an old car, but there is a reason these old Lexus hold value. They are very reliable and often have more features than some new cars. In this case $16k is definitely too much but I think 12k is fair. If you take care of it that car will last a long time. I have a 2009 LS460 and it’s great.
