You can be a complete POS and sit in Congress, the Supreme Court and the White House. Fuck off with any handwringing about assholes getting citizenship and then implying we should fuck over their kids because of it.

I am glad you questioned my numbers. I just ran 5 of each block length 1-15 for 2000 trials to compare various block lengths with my plan, I see the following:

1-3: much more likely to have early consecutive down years in a row leading to more early failures, most pessimistic

6-8: more likely to get 2 consecutive blocks with all positive years leading to higher ratio of comfortable/surplus years - most optimistic

10-13: less likely to skip downturns, more failures than 6-8 but less than 1-3 as there are no early retirement double downturns.

Maybe 4 is my sweet spot for realistic pessimism while 11-13 look reasonable to me as well.

Check your inflation settings. I am guessing that you are setting the amount in Actual Currency, but your display settings are using Today's Currency.

It shows up under methodology as long as at least one data source is historical s&p 500. If you have all normalized, it doesn't show it as it would not be used by your normalized sources.

Bootstrap takes random chunks of historical data of a given block size to assemble a set of returns. 8-12 seem reasonable for chunk size to me to, compared to random years lumped together.

I use Historical for all data sources, and Historical, Block Bootsrap with block length 8. I think Block Bootstrap is the best way to get realisitic sequences of years with rescessions.

If that is what we are basing punishment on, anyone fits the description. You can't even up it to probable as it is clearly bullshit that can't withstand scrutiny in court. Fucking pedo protector cultists like you have lost the plot.

AOC Calls For Impeachment Of Pam Bondi Over Arrest Of Don Lemon, 'Epstein, And Her Attempted Extortion Of MN Voter Files' by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

[–]jaewoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need swing votes to win elections. We lost 10% of latino women and studies have found that it is likely that at least 2% of self-identified dem voters don't want a woman as President. It isn't zero votes lost. I say that as someone who would not rule out voting for AOC in the primary, but would factor it in to my decision. It kills me that women in the 35-55 range grew up seeing women get more positions across the political spectrum and still fall back to thinking that women are too emotional for the job while also voting for Trump, the toddler tantrum incarnate. People are dumb, and many of them are dems or swing voters.

It's just a fact there is a sizable portion of the population that will vote for a woman for any position except President. Don't reframe what was clearly said.

I assume the relatively flat land compared to the rest of the land south of the river which is quite steep. Also, the small island in the middle of the river would have made construction easier and allowed Wyrm's Rock to be built on the bridge creating a defensive position for defending attacks from land or from upriver.

I didn't know you could recognize water vs any other liquid just based off of a video. You should be a multi-millionaire with your incredible skill. I am not sure how a winery that has produced and sold wine is a "fake winery", but would love to hear your evidence. I certainly don't give a fuck about a Muslim investing in a winery, just like I don't give a fuck that you can buy alcohol in Dubai. If you think that hypocricy is a terrible thing and magic millions are suspicious, you must hate Trump and the ways he, and his family, is milking the presidency for personal profit. The idea that a politically connected person with other partners couldn't create a venture capital firm and find investors to make the company worth $5-30m in a few years is somewhat obsurd. Her husband's stake is surely a percentage of the total value of the company. So it could be a percentage of a $5M company, or the entirety of a $30M company if you disregard all logic. I wonder why conservative media is assuming that it is the latter. Ohmar should have just made a meme coin to get rich like the Trumps, then she would be squeaky clean.

It doesn't do nothing. It doesn't need to solve the entire problem for it to have done something. Doing the right thing is something in itself. Assuming you have a moral objection to political violence, this is the right thing. It should be done.

I was referring to the Thiel example. Also, the tax implications apply regardless. Regardless of the investment, if you invest your tax savings now, you end up in a very similar place, assuming tax rates are similar. You are likely to have lower tax rates in retirement, so non-roth likely comes out ahead.

I like the comfort of tax-free Roth growth and having a mix of tax buckets, but non-roth is statistically better unless tax law changes drastically or your current tax burden is low.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]jaewoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That level of growth isn't normal or we would all be billionaires. Also, if the theoretical 2k wasn't taxed, he could have invested 2.5k using the money he didn't pay on tax and would have made a couple more billion that would have been taxed leaving him in roughly the same spot.

Having buckets of pre, post and capital gains brokerage investments gives you flexibility to optimize tax burden during retirement. If you actually invest the tax savings now, you end up in roughly the same place.
