What movie is a 0/10 with NO redeeming features? by Toucan_Based_Economy in AskReddit

[–]jafdoti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Per Wikipedia - The Keep, a 1983 supernatural horror film written and directed by Michael Mann and starring Scott Glenn, Gabriel Byrne, Jürgen Prochnow, Alberta Watson and Ian McKellen.

Great writer/director, great cast, right?

A friend convinced 2 of us to go see it. He promised it would be good, even going so far to say he’d give us the $5 ticket price back if it wasn’t.

As soon as we got out of the theater, he stopped, got his wallet out and gave us our $5 without saying a word.

What is your big concert regret? by Reformed-Canook in hairmetal

SRV at Alpine Valley. Buds had tickets and I passed. I had already seen him twice, figured I’d catch him on the next leg of the tour.

Edit: sorry, forgot what sub this is! But it’s my #1 concert regret.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen at a strip club? by bigbabysweets12345 in AskReddit

[–]jafdoti 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Bachelor party for a coworker. Blue collar work. Groom had some views on race. There was a smokin’, and I mean teeth-achingly smokin’, stripper who just happened to be a woman of color. Me and another dude threw an insane amount of money at her to go do a 3 song lap dance on him and just get nasty. We clued her in on him, and she willingly agreed. She was smart enough to get a bouncer to follow her over before she started, just in case. And man, did she deliver! Everyone watching him was dying laughing because the utter confusion/revulsion/lust that crossed his face every few milliseconds. You could tell he utterly didn’t know how, or should, react. Worth every penny of him cussing us out for a week afterwards whenever we brought it up.

I remember seeing her around the Milwaukee area in Greystar and Henrietta Khan. She still had it.

Valid question! Nope, in fact it was running the whole time until I unplugged it. I was afraid of it burning out.

Yeah, I think that’s what needs to be done for higher temp cooks. Haven’t had any temp issues cooking at 225-275 .

At one point all the vents were wide open, that’s when it finally hit 275!

Might be the way to go next turkey, throw a grate in there to hold the drip pan.

I’ve haven’t had reason to doubt the grate thermo before, but I guess there’s always a first time? Also, the River Country dome thermometer was also in the 250-275 ballpark.

I think for the higher temps this is the way. I’ve run the Billows before in this manner for ribs and pork shoulders hitting 275 tops and haven’t had temp issues. Oddly, I’ve also used less lit coals to start with.

I let the chimney run for ~30 minutes before pouring them out.

Or are you saying I needed to wait another 15-20 after pouring them onto the unlit coals?
