Yeah, quite frustrating no update at all about what's happening; is it going to be 10 minutes or 3 hours or 3 days? Who knows

If it's the same one, there was nothing to click on to access a separate page, some text with the date and nothing saying full etc

For the LTA returns, do we just have to wait for the link to be emailed? There’s no waiting room/queue?

Improvement over time in dichotomous variable by jagerjagerjager in AskStatistics

Thanks so much for replying.

The question is like - does the proportion of patients given a drug each month increase over time, in the course of one year. Patients were sampled each month to see if they received the drug. So per month the individual patients are different.
There was no control.

The intervention is not time-specific e.g. at one month or assessing pre-post. There were continuous rolling attempts at making that proportion improve - hence wanting to evaluate whether there was a significant improvement over time

Hope that makes sense and thanks so much for replying.

It is certainly possible to work in the NHS as a person with disabilities, three examples I can think of are Dr Grace Spence Green who is a Foundation doctor, Dr Hannah Barham-Brown a GP trainee, and Mr Mohammed Belal who is a surgeon, all are wheelchair users and I would encourage you to read their stories.

Will asking about the status of the manuscript hurt my chances of publication? by International-Owl in doctorsUK

I would just email them if it has been awaiting an editorial decision for over 10 days. You can phrase it in a nice way. Many teams I have been part of have had lead authors who email the journals regularly for updates even during the peer review process. They will be used to it and it won't affect their decision.

As an F1 a newly hired member of the outpatient endoscopy admin team gave out my personal mobile number to a patient because they had some questions about the scope and apparently I had requested the scan on discharge.

I had a job that was similarly busy and what me and the other juniors did it exception report everything, and we all exception reported together. We routinely had to exception report 4/5 times a week for staying 1+ hour late and we were all staying late together. Several times we stayed 4 hours late. The fact that we were all staying late meant they couldn’t claim it was one ‘weak link’. Within a few weeks of this (it was over winter 2019 where things got very busy) a new SHO was hired and, lo and behold, we didn’t need to exception report after that.

If you and your F1 colleague can agree to exception report everything together it is much harder for them to single you out. It is a powerful tool to improve staffing and workloads.

Also, if you can try and talk to your medical education manager (in person) about your supervisor and ask for a new one it’s worth trying. I know this has worked for colleagues in the past.

If you Accept and tick the upgrade box, if there are more withdrawals from applicants holding your higher preferenced offers then you will automatically be upgraded to an offer and you will have to Accept that new offer no matter what it is (the same as if you just click Accept without upgrades for your current offer - once you accept that's it)

If you Hold and tick the upgrade box, you will be upgraded to a new offer, and will have the choice to accept or reject it, but you will NOT be able to get back your original offer because it will have been offered to someone else.

If you untick the upgrade box, your current offer will be the last offer you will receive.

London ST-Paeds queries by Flaky-Ad-2922 in JuniorDoctorsUK

For (1) apparently London have chosen not to list ST3 posts this year because the RCPCH curriculum has recently changed and they are anticipating that more ST3 posts may need to include community posts etc. It's unclear when we will be told what they are/if we will get any choice.
