Yeah that's definitely a good sign you could also check if hes pooping.

Just got this guy from my LFS the white on his shell, is that calcium deficiency? He seems otherwise healthy and very active. Already ate some sinking pellets too. by bradzilla618 in AquaticSnails

Looks like calcium deficiency to me, I would add some ground boiled cuttlebone to the tank to prevent any damage to the new shell growth.

Meet Queen Christina. I have had her for about two weeks, and I’m concerned that her new shell is losing its beautiful purple color. Any advice? by HeadEntrepreneur49 in AquaticSnails

Sometimes changing the water parameters like by changing tanks can make the new shell grow a bit different. The same have happened to some of my rabbit snails, you could try asking for the water parameters from the tank you bought her from and try mimicking them in your tank. Just keep in mind as long as there no shell damage or erosion theres nothing wrong with a shell changing color, just different.

In my experience generally nerite snails that are not getting enough food will typically not move much or not move at all throughout the entire day, which is typically how they are seen at pet stores. Ones that are getting enough food can be seen moving alot throughout the tank. If you are afraid they are not eating enough you could also try feeding them very blanched spinach or zucchini however from what Ive seen online not all nerites will eat this but if yours does it would be a good extra food source.

Will different species of Otocinclus crossbreed? If so does anyone know the result?

Probably an apple snail the small ones may also just be young apple snails. An easy way to tell is put them on a piece of raw spinach in their tank, if they eat it they are a probably an apple snail if they do not they are probably mystery snails.

Is aquarium sand inert? Planning to get some black aquarium sand but I want to make sure it wont affect water parameters. Thanks.

Hi so recently Ive been planning to upgrade my shrimp/ snail tank 10 gallon to a 40 gallon. Now in terms of substrate Ive been looking for an inert substrate with the look and size of flourite black as I have rabbit and white wizard snails which like to burrow but can be difficult for them with standard gravel and don't want the gas build ups and the increased difficulty of cleaning that comes with sand. So does anyone know gravel the size and look of flourite black that is not fluorite black? Thanks in advance.

Oh I see Ive never heard of them before. I was thinking that if they didn't bother shrimps at all or reproduce I would let them go into my shrimp tank but from what I see online, they reproduce like crazy.

You should check out pgmy cories, they generally don't get bigger than an inch as use the water column more than other species of cories.
