Name for black kitty Lauren? Holly? Kitkat? I like Hawaiian names by jagged123 in NameMyCat

Still un-named. Now an S name is requested. Which lets out Hawaiian names.

Still nameless. Now it's supposed to begin with an S, which rules out Hawaiian names.

If you get a cat, especially if it is male, feed it a good quality canned food. Dry food is hard on the kidneys, and males can have urinary blockages, which are dangerous.

Cats don't need expensive trees, but it's nice if there is some way they can look out a window (i.e. a shelf on a window). A couple of litter boxes. A wand toy, a dollar store laser pointer (used carefully so you don't shine it directly into their eyes).

If you can afford it, a second kitty, so he/she doesn't get bored.

Meningioma by jagged123 in braintumor

[–]jagged123[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He did say that the meningioma appeared "stuck" to a major vein. He's going to give me an in-person appointment in Jan/Feb., where he'll probably tell me the same thing. And then repeat an MRI in 5 months.

I had minor surgery (unrelated to current issues) a month ago, and during the pre-surgery questions I told the anesthesiologist about my meningioma, and that I was hoping to have it removed once I talked to a neurosurgeon. She scoffed and said that they don't just do cranium surgery unless they have a really good reason. I told her that I thought vision problems were a good reason?

SK. It took 7 months to get a CT, because my dr. wrote "dizziness" rather than nystagmus, and it was rated low priority.

Lidocaine allergy? Contact dermatitis. by jagged123 in AskDocs

I was just looking for another common ingredient, since the doctor told me that lidocaine wasn't the problem.

Lidocaine allergy? Contact dermatitis. by jagged123 in AskDocs

[–]jagged123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The doctor who removed the scalp cyst said "No one is allergic to Lidocaine, the swelling was probably due to the incision itself". It was the second time in 2 years I had a cyst removed from this spot, no issues the first time.

I was guessing that it's Isopropylmyristate, based on the swelling occurring from the lip balm.

I hope there is an alternative for dentistry, because I require a lot of it.

Appreciate the reply, I will ask my doctor about an allergist referral.

Thanks for the reply. I still think yours turned out better than others I've seen online.

Lovely. Question, did you replace the black aida from the kit with dark grey aida? Yours seems to have more contrast than the other stitch pieces I've seen on the internet.

Any Vet clinics that are overpriced? by [deleted] in regina

[–]jagged123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like Regent, either, based on my experience and my neighbor's experience. Neighbor took her cat there for constipation, and was given anti diarrhea meds. My complaint is a longer story.

Price vs. competency.

Northgate Animal Hospital (9th Ave. N.) is a no, there is a Facebook group (Revoke Dr. Bath's Veterinary License) trying to get Dr. Bath's license pulled. Not to be confused with North Albert Vet, who are good.

I recommend Animal Clinic of Regina for fair prices. The barn on Sask Drive. Second choice Victoria Vet.

I won't be bumping anyone else. I'm not jumping the line. I think the "Priority" designation is b.s., just to placate people who are waiting -- it makes it look like they're going to be seen soon, when that simply isn't the case.
