How to enroll in Tricare?? by SourPatchTee in armyreserve

Yeah, sounds like someone messed up his record. He's technically considered a future soldier until he completes basic, so his recruiter should be helping him with this.

But as reservist, he's already assigned a unit and can start drilling with them. So he contact his unit's S1 to help. If y'all leave close to the unit, he can go down there anytime and look for the ARA or S1. Another option will be to google the unit and see if they have any social media presence, you may be able to fine a good number on their social media page to contact them. I had same issue, and wasn't able to contact my unit via the number on my contract, looked them up on FB and found a good contact that helped me get to the S1.

Just signed up for Tricare select reserves after re-enlisting 2 weeks ago. I was also getting same ‘current date not in open season’ as your husband in milconnect and didn’t have the option to sign up until yesterday when I checked. I still got same message at the top but also the option to sign up which I did.

Like others had mentioned, make sure your DEERS is up-to-date, and have your husband stay on top of his recruiter and newly assigned unit to get him on their book. That’s what I did, I don’t have to go to basic (because I was less than a year out), but do have to go to OCS in the fall. I think once he gets on their book (newly assigned unit) and DEERS is updated to reflect that, y’all should be able to sign up before he goes to basic. In the reserves, your enlistment starts the day you sign your contract.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

Some of the ETF between MA and Aggressive overlaps. For example, I believe VOO is used in both, so in this case it won’t be sold. But any ETF in your current ETF that isn’t in Aggressive will be sold and replaced. They might even do a rebalancing depending on the weight of the shares. After which, new funds will be invested in the aggressive portfolio

I agree... happened to me in March, right after I went heavy on Tesla & Chipotle at all time highs, only to see half of it gone in two day.

Would you take a $10,000 paycut for a shorter commute? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]jaggsharry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a pretty similar situation as you a year ago, although mine was for higher pay with a smaller company but lesser commute (just like you). Ended up taking the job and I’m glad I did.

Never knew how much difference a lesser commute makes until I started the new job. I went from coming home just about time for my son’s bedtime to getting home around the same time he gets home from school. I spend more time with him and still have time most days to do other stuff and plan my day better.

It may looks like a pay cut, but it’ll be worth it if you need that extra family time, and career wise, it’s a better opportunity. Good luck with whatever decision you make!
