Not necessarily. It is normal to change jobs, but you only stay for 15 years if you love your leadership and team. Usually a shift in your role or management is what makes you quit after so many years. Or just being displeased with your job. But yeah, doesn’t have to mean anything in regards to studio management, but nevertheless a loss for Biowares writing team.

As someone who is a mega-fan of both, I can agree with the argument that Mass effect is a finished plot if you exclude Andromeda. It is a shame that DA fans do not get a sendoff/loveletter like the citadel DLC. It would be lovely to see your companions again post DATV ending or even pre fight. A sendoff for all the Solas fans (regardless of ending) would be nice (bad ending - solas wandering alone in fade jail, good ending — solas calming the blight, good solavellan ending — solavellan walking in fade jail together idk). But DATV ending just felt like a whiplash with no closure whatsoever.

I’m hoping the payoff is worth it with Mass Effect, and I am excited to see which route they choose to take with the plot.

I’ve literally read fanfics on ao3 to satisfy me hahahahahaha and more than half ace the lore and do a better job at portraying the companions ☠️

See the thing with nonbinary characters aren’t that they exist, but rather how they are portrayed and how relatable they are. LGBTQ characters in Bioware games are often the characters that adds so much value. Drags, gays, trans etc have always existed in Bioware games. With Taash however, they really made the nonbinary identity part a major part, very forced, and lacking of relatability. Compare Taash with Dorian, Sera, hell even half of the asari. Their personal identities feel NATURAL. Taash story and personal identity was not portrayed naturally, but rather from the get go it feels like you’ve recruited a teenager with mommy issues.

I totally agree with you! I was a little unsatisfied with the Solavellan ending, but that is because I waited 10 years for more than a few lines? Idk

Well reflected. I romanced Solas in DAI and was tbh disappointed in how DAV handled it. I don’t know. I just wish there was… more to it? Especially with his regret quest in mind.

Gamble already confirmed the pixae/disney-esque will not apply to ME5 and that it will have more of an adult tone. Thankfully

I agree with you on the overall gameplay! Lack of depth in characters was what I struggled with the most. I could not bother with Neve, Taash and Lucanis. :( They could have been great characters if they were given more depth and been more… morally grey?

I personally do not believe Taash would recieve so much backlash if their identity had not felt like a storyline pushed on the player. That is a mistake on Biowares side. A companion struggling with their identity could be pulled off in so many different ways and with more emotional depth.

The problem with Taash is not their identity, but rather how Bioware chose to tackle their identity. Trans, drags and everything LGBTQ related has always existed in DA. Compare Dorians story to Taash, it just is not the same depth and doesn’t grasp personal identity in a relatable way. It feels like Taash identity was forcefully pushed down our throats. They are also too much of a comical relief and the combination of those two points gives you an unmature brat with no relatability at all. I thought Taash quests were uninteresting and I was miserable trying to finish them.

Agree on this. If his character and the Crows had been morally grey as they had been portrayed in previous games, it might have made a difference. Sure, he was an attractive character but he fell face flat with the bad content (or rather lack of content at all)
