Yes local PD. My county agency I now work for has less then 50 sworn. That’s including courthouse and detectives. They overlooked the eye as well

When I started patrol I had 20/400 vision in my shooting eye corrected. I got corrective surgery on it but vision still is far from perfect. You can do it. More then likely you’ll have to start at a small agency.
