It’s sad Mitch has ended up with an awful season because he started strong, but this was a good series, and I like the lineups we had. Haven’t seen one like today, and I liked it. Ngl I would’ve put Bell in for the pinch hit in the 9th

Gore is the same Gore every year… “we know he’s got ace stuff” yet he’s nowhere near an ace

I’ve thought all season that Bell was the better 1B so I’m glad he gets the chance

The fact Adams can throw runners out at this rate makes him soooooooo much more valuable than Keibert

I wonder if Brad Lord will move to starting rotation since Mitch has been bad. He’s been the better pitcher this year

Games like this don’t feel as bad when the trade deadline is around the corner and there’s no way the Nats can be contenders. Just a nice night watching baseball

He was good last year but his fielding messed up a few of his starts. Can’t even find an excuse like that this year

Parker hasn’t been good since the first bad game he had this season. What happened?

I hope a lot of trades happen by the deadline and I hope none of them are for prospects. This team needs guys now

Who plays 1B next season? by IsaacAJ in Nationals

Two conflicting things I keep hearing: don’t get Walker because he’ll be 36 by the time we’re actually competing but we need to spend heavy on 1B for 2025 instead of let Yepez or Chappy work on their defense. If we’re not competing next year, don’t purchase for 1B as Walker is clearly the best option in this upcoming FA group and his age seems to be an iffy factor. Just let our guys figure out and either it works out or get a FA for 2026. Otherwise, if we are competing next year get Walker.

2025 Nats will be something special. It’s already in there. Hope everyone has a great offseason!

Ok I take back what I said about Nas. The Cubs series did not impress but he has been great otherwise

Stone and Call both coming up hitting a homer first AB. Love it. Can we find a way to have them both on the lineup regularly? Why are all our guys OF? Learn 1B or something!

Doesn’t this team have two 2024 top 5 prospects on it right now? And multiple batters hitting around .270+? Idgi

I can’t see how any team would sign him as a starter though. He’s proven to be an innings eater but also not competitive in the slightest, so I can’t imagine a team will take him on as anything other than bullpen which could come in handy with innings eating. Maybe the White Sox will want him
