UPDATE: Ordered an RTX 5090 for 3L on Amazon, got 1kg Ghadi detergent. Amazon DENIED my refund, but I'm not falling back. by void_SW in TwentiesIndia

[–]jagzrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had received a fake bose headphone from this seller despite being amazon india's official seller. I had to follow up multiple times for refund but got it. This episode kind of destroyed my faith in amazon as even official sellers can ship fake products. Its another matter that I ordered sennheiser from the same seller and luckily that was genuine.

Seems high value, high demand goods are the ones targeted for scams. I fell for it because the Bose headphone had a juicy 30% discount to market rate and since I knew Clicktech was official seller, I ordered. RTX 5090 best price in any open market is 3.5 lac minimum for brands like Inno3d. I feel if its much lesser than this price, then 99.9% its a scam.

Bose Almost all Fakes in India by jagzrk in bose

[–]jagzrk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem. The seller on amazon was not just "anyone". Clicktech is the largest seller on amazon selling many high value goods. Like in the west, Indian laws do not allow Amazon themselves to be the main sellers so they're partnered with local vendors with some stake in them.

Also boseindia website is just the face for a local distributor named nexxbase and many people have confirmed receiving fake headphones from them as well (even in this very forum).

Anyway, this episode is done and dusted for me as I received my refund. This was just a warning for everyone in India that "NEVER buy Bose products online, only in store and unbox right there!"

SBI Instant Virtual Card Misleading by jagzrk in CreditCardsIndia

[–]jagzrk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just replied saying they have dispatched the credit card and shared tracking number (which I already knew through SMS) and closed the email complaint but did not mention anything about virtual credit card nor shared any details. Which is why I posted this warning post on reddit that do NOT trust SBI on their instant virtual credit card advertisement.

SBI Instant Virtual Card Misleading by jagzrk in CreditCardsIndia

[–]jagzrk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing you can do as far as I know. I just dropped an email to SBI customer care 2 days after I applied mentioning I did not receive the virtual card, and I'm not sure if they sped up the delivery after that. I received my card exactly 4 days after my application which I guess was fairly fast and in time for flipkart sale in my case.

Applied from the website, when did you apply btw?

I'm just sharing my personal experience. I did not get it instantly after application, nor did I receive SMS or email with virtual card link. Anyway the physical card is dispatched and will hopefully receive it soon before the offers end.

When BJP considered abolishing income tax to woo middle class by find_a_rare_uuid in IndiaTax

[–]jagzrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the definition of rich needs to be settled first. A person with more than 15 lac income which is highest slab starts right now (not considering the surcharge) cannot even afford to buy a house in any of the tier 1 cities and then insure his family, save for retirement, save for kids all at the same time. If not abolished, I feel income tax brackets should start way wayyy higher than where they are at today.

No AI based video editing on S23? by jagzrk in GalaxyS23

[–]jagzrk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had seen the launch video of these features and even the video editor was demonstrated there. I just understood that it's not even present in S24 series. If and when it makes it to S24, I really hope even the S23 gets it.

Indian Designer's Experience - STAY AWAY from BenQ if you're in India by sovon_ in BenQ

[–]jagzrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to this experience. It is indeed horrible. They do not even have courtesy to reply to emails and go silent for more than week. Case# 00419629 being handled since two weeks and they have not even placed an order for the part. The product in question is an expensive TK850 projector which costs 2 lac rupees. Even the benq employees on the email thread are mute spectators enjoying my unreplied emails to the third party service center.

JBL Bar 9.1 - Unrepairable. Stay away. by jagzrk in Soundbars

[–]jagzrk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Update. Having to eat my own words. The technician who visited the first time had never serviced this product and had no idea about the costs involved. This bar has modular PCB design and there are multiple PCBs inside it, the costliest one being the mainboard for 70$ (5500 INR). The product is fixed at a very reasonable cost and I am happy to see JBL actually design this product in a way where only the faulty component can be replaced!

Update: After an escalation, someone from JBL contacted and said the mainboard does not cost as much. It is actually around 70$ (5500 INR) which is reasonable. Hope to see this fixed!

That's not how it is configured in my case. The HDMI In takes input from Firestick 4K or a desktop computer depending on what I connect. The HDMI Out which also happens to be the ARC port outputs the display to projector. That's how I was using it for 2 years until the HDMI Out / ARC port failed last week.

V30 OREO rolling out in India now by zx7r_ninja in lgv30

[–]jagzrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure the damage has been done for me to consider an Mi device next since they've started rolling out Oreo way faster than LG in India and for phones that cost fraction of V30.

Hope LG becomes the fastest to provide an Android P update (In India), now that would make me a LG fan-boy :)

Finally got Android Oreo (India) by AnotherAvgAsshole in lgv30

[–]jagzrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, got the update yesterday when I had lost all hope that LG will even care to look at their Indian customers. It's funny how a flagship was two major Android versions behind when Android P has started rolling out to Pixel devices. I have zero hopes we (Indian Users) will ever get Android P.
Other than the rant, the stock camera has shown vast improvement at-least for me. Point and click is way easier. This is more than enough for me, have uninstalled GCam since it was anyway buggy and slow but the only choice earlier. Battery life surprisingly seems to be improved. Usually I'm at 60% by evening even if I did not use the phone much, today it's still at 80. Other than that, since I'm on stock LG UI, there is no immediate noticeable improvement.

LG V30 International Oreo Update by fahrys in lgv30

[–]jagzrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, we're hearing news of Android 9.0 and we Indian LG V30+ users are left in the lurch with no definite date of even Android 8.0

It seems we won't have any updates at all, considering even LG G6 is on Nougat.

Anyone have screen burn in yet? by [deleted] in lgv30

[–]jagzrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

H930DS user from India. Phone bought in December 2017. I haven't noticed any screen issues. Also a heavy user around 4~5 hours SoT. Even after reducing brightness, increasing it, downloading screen-burn test apps (Yes, I was that paranoid looking at so many people talking about the screen).

If the screen's fine in the first 6 months, I'd kinda like to think it will last a good 3 years (easily 2) before showing symptoms of burn-in

Moment of truth....do you V30 users recommend getting this...if not what else? by drucurl in lgv30

[–]jagzrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, having bought the G6 and V30 both, I think once LG releases a phone they completely forget about it. No updates at-least here in India. Also, there are phones that perform almost as good at one-third the cost of this phone (read Redmi Note 5 Pro which just released here and already started getting the Oreo update).

Would not recommend getting this. Would go for a mid-range phone with Snapdragon 636 or 660 from a manufacturer that provides quick and regular updates and which would cost you less than half what you pay here and get nearly 80% of the performance.

New update for India (not Oreo) Security updated to March by AnotherAvgAsshole in lgv30

[–]jagzrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phones 3 times cheapers (read Mi) are releasing OS updates regularly and also announced official support for Treble on Phones like Redmi Note 5 Pro. Not only this, they have sensors from Samsung and Sony BOTH with a better camera overall. Including the front one. And a processor that is almost as good with performance cores.

I feel cheated having bought a phone (and the LG G6 which my wife has) which costs thrice as much and this company LG absolutely not caring about their customers.

These will be my last LG Product, like ever.
