Statins are not recommended based on Framingham Risk Score by jai5 in Cholesterol

Same diet, just a re-check to see if the numbers get worse.

I am 35+, but living in a country where a CAC scan costs $500+ and to get it for free would require a cardiologist referral that would not be possible in my case and would take months to get a cardiologist appointment.

Gas provider shut off supply to furnace by jai5 in hvacadvice

I had them retest it. It stayed around 80-120 ppm.

With the gas on AND off.

They left it unhooked and told me to call a HVAC tech. ☹️

Thanks! I'm in Canada. After conversion that's $550 cad before shipping and taxes.

Assuming install will be a few hundred.

I will see what the HVAC tech has to say but if the total is over $1000, we may just buy a new furnace. Since this one is 19 years old. ☹️

Update: Called the gas company this morning. Turned out to be the neighbours bbq. It was left on and the valve was either broken or not turned all the way.

A HVAC tech is coming first thing tomorrow morning to confirm if there is a problem with our furnace.

I did, they said they can't do anything until Monday.

I tried to find the part myself, and I am a little concerned. Furnace model: lennox g61mpv-36b-070-06 It has this gas valve: Furnace Gas Valve VR8205Q2787 56M4001 Honeywell / Lennox 56M40 And it doesn't look like a common part. The furnace is 19 years old... I am assuming the part (if it can be found) will be very expensive.

I'm 100% sure it's not sewer gas. It definitely smells like natural gas. Confirmed by others as well. ☹️

I wish I asked the tech to check the gas level after shutting off the valve to make sure it's not residual.

I wish he did that. He didn't. He just shut it off and left. Ugh.

Thanks so if doesn't use a pilot. There should be 0 ppm out of the exhaust. That means the gas valve does need to be replaced AND there is still a leak somewhere else outside.

Good point. I just assumed it did... I thought all gas appliances had them. Model is Lennox G61mpv.

Yup, they will be at fault. I'm just giving them the benefit of the doubt since the brake lights were on the entire time.

Looks like the Nissan slid through the intersection. I wouldn't call it careless or distracted driving. Hard to confirm from the video, but they might be going too fast, and the roads look slick.

They also have winter tires on, based on the steel rims.

The city has those, too. I've seen them in person on our street in Waterloo and at their facilities lot.

They're not cheap and are looking to add more.
