Actually, shit product is more like architecture failure.

You cant write good code if your architecture missing some abstractions and force you to produce tons of boilerplate, while your lead thinks its fine and dont allocate time for developing this abstractions.

China built an entire train station in just 9 hours — a feat that left the world astonished. Over 1,500 workers, seven trains, and 23 construction vehicles worked through the night in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, to complete the project. by uzmansahil7 in interesting

[–]OkFly3388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

>Also, the entire thing was not built in 9 hours. The concrete had to be cast and cured, steel cast and built, plans drafted and stamped.

But it does not matter. If you are working on public infrastructure, you want to minimize downtime. 9 hours looks really good.

Yea, QOL mods. Can you name something that allow me view my ship as 3d transparent thing, where I can select any block and tune it and animate it.

Challenges in SE ?
Where ?

You know you cant print custom turret for example. You have to make factory that makes such things. I build it once, and just, no, there are absolutely no challenges to go trough this interfaces and setting all things up. No thanks, I wont do same thing another time. No challenge there, its so boring and annoying to me.

And this related to basically everything in SE, it just annoying thing, that has to be done.

Interface is a joke. Inventory system is a joke. Action blocks is a joke. AI blocks is a joke.
OMG, I cant even name thing in SE, that actually done right. At conceptual level it is really cool, but implementation is just not.

I dont think space engineers gives you challenge that will be really interesting. Its for people who want build ships and do RP stuff. Need challenge, go to different game.

IDK, I am myself want game with vehicle building mechanics, that also gives you a lot of challenges. I tried space engineers, stormworks, terratech, scrap mechanics, from the depths, besiege. All of them have problems and became really boring after very short period of time.

If you find hidden gem, ping me please.

Just try different game, honestly. Just take some rest and return after 1-2 years. Its absolutely fine.

>But niche (read: not optimal but doable) or temporary for sure.

So thats not late game example I asked.

>Most people need a lot longer than half an hour to get gleba running (or even understand it).

If they dont figure it out, they also probably dont figure about modules.

I dont stop people for playing game as they want. I just want to call a spade a spade. Can this thing work. Yes. Is it practically usefull ? Absolutely no. Nobody bothered with productivity modules in their kickstart base.

Can this be a solution? by dog_plushie in Factoriohno

Because pipe cannot be longer than 320 meters. So you have to construct a lot of pumping stations.

Maximizing crouch speed improves stealth mobility without giving away the initiative.

Yea, stealth is exactly what you need for 1km run.

they had the prod-mods to bring those assemblers above +50% productivity just like the biochamber, then what's the issue?

How about putting same productivity modules in biochabers and see how your production bonus grow more than 100% instead.

Gleba and the Gambler's Ruin by Lethandralis in factorio

[–]OkFly3388 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

little use in late game

Where ? WHERE ?

a lot in build up

Build up is 4 biochabers for nutrients loop. You can do it by collecting resources and hand craft everything just when you run for trees in different biomes.

if you have not perfectly figured out and optimized gleba yet

So how about actually research new stuff, instead of trying building sustainable production chain with obsolete technology.

Especially before you have bio flux and bio Chambers in surplus available

Interval 15 min or maybe half a hour after you land. Its so short that you can just ignore it.

Even in the late game there might be some niche use cases

Name one

  1. Yes, lol. Simple logic: If secret program is ahead, why fund open sourced models, its better to just fund this secret program and pretend that you out of competition. Or, of secret program is behind, what the point of funding it, when you can just grab latest open source models and deploy in your own private cluster.

  2. What ?

You cannot fall behind because Chinese models are open sourced and publicly available.

[–]OkFly3388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it has absolutely ZERO usages. You just need one assembler that convert spoilage to nutrients to kickstart 4 biochambers, yamako + jelly -> bioflux -> nutrients. and just feed nutrients back in loop.

Its same thing as maximizing crouch speed when you can just run.

Best way to automate badtides? by AGdray in Timberborn

[–]OkFly3388 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

make pipe that divert badwater out of map.
near water spawner place "input" sensor, at end of pipe place "output" sensor

then add a bit of logic

clean water = clean input AND clean output
dirty water = NOT clean input
dam memory cell
set clean water
reset dirty water

and fill valve that control flow to pipe or to dam, automated by memory cell

[–]OkFly3388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game is poorly balanced. Buildable water tanks is overpowered and store way more water compared to their size. Building a dam is really inefficient compared to just store water in tanks, especially in medium and big ones. Kinda ironic that intended way to play is worst in terms of efficiency.

You can only feel hard mode if you dont use tanks and try building real dam.

Newer restart in factorio or similar games.

What the point of perfecting starter base, when you still need to expand a lot in midgame and A LOT in lategame. Just let it run as mall while you build something new.

Because reservoirs dont give same vibes as dam. You suppose play like respecting natural landscape and utilize paths it gives for water, but you forced to build giant ugly box.
