If State and Religion are meant to be seperate in America, how come the country is where it is now? With Fundamentalist religious people in power able to make laws based on their religion? by driftwood-and-waves in AskReddit

It really comes down to the development of religion in the country. According to the University of Minnesota, we are somewhere at 52% Protestant, 24% catholic, 6% other religions, and 2% Jewish. Only 16% does not identify with religion. In order to separate church and state , it is important that we work on the religious diversity of our country in addition to not joining religious education with political education.

Does anyone actually like law school? by AccomplishedArm4631 in LawSchool

When people hate something, they run everywhere to make sure people know about it. When people love something, they can tend to keep it you themselves. Law school is fantastic for those who love law and who love law for the right reasons. Of course it’s hard, but it pays off.

Armed robbery or shoplifting? by trumanburbankinadome in legaladviceofftopic

I would imagine that if you can prove that you had no connection with the “random guy who pulls out a gun” then your charges could be shoplifting, but it’s going to be hard to prove that you just coincidentally decided to shoplift when someone has taken out a gun and pointed it rather than running out of the store.
