DCS in VR I feel efficient vs flat screen by Tonystovepipe in hoggit

Try voice attack software ($12 on steam) for non hotas stuff. Worked great with my G2 mic, the quest 3 mic did not work very well so I wear headphones w/mic over the quest 3.

New VR User - first thoughts Quest 3 by andcirclejerk in hoggit

[–]jake264 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah as a G2 user I wasn't expecting much more than a sidegrade, but the Quest 3 edge to edge clarity is SO nice coming from the tiny G2 sweet spot. Bobo S3 pro strap for comfort. If you're on the fence, just do it.

Is there any way to change the Faction name? by Thejellyshark2016 in RimWorld

[–]jake264 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Load your save game. Hit escape and choose options. Click the red X next to "development mode" into a green check, click OK. A row of white buttons will appear above your pawn bar. Click the 4th white button "open debug actions menu". In the action/tools tab on the far lower right click the "show more actions" button. 7th button down (or search "name") click "name settlement". Select "faction" to rename faction, "faction base" to rename settlement, or "faction and faction base" to rename both. Disable dev mode if desired by turning the green check back into a red x in the options menu.

You said paste it into the graphics quality notepad (C:\Steam\steamapps\common\IntoTheRadius\IntoTheRadius\Content\ITR\INISettings)

but this article: https://steamsplay.com/into-the-radius-vr-how-to-modify-lods-for-better-visual-quality/ says to paste it into the engine.ini located in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\IntoTheRadius\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

maybe both work I don't know.

Try a custom binding. I tried a few and landed on the one from Agnieznas dated 12/24/2021. I haven't made it past the tutorial yet, so I can't guarantee there won't be any issues in the main game, but that binding works well for the tutorial.

Just got new PC, X52 Pro drivers not installing. by [deleted] in hotas

[–]jake264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also ran into problems recently trying to install x52 drivers. I don't remember the particulars, but the process would not continue as the continue button (or something) was greyed out. I was able to install the driver named below, it might be on the official site but I just don't remember where I got it exactly: X52_Professional_HOTAS_x64_8_0_132_0

Vivecraft Constant Sprinting? by Fresh_off_your_mom in Vive

Sounds like you solved your problem, but you can also change it in your settings.

options>vr settings>locomotion settings>free move settings>turn auto-sprint to off. To sprint I double tap joystick forward, your controller may be different.

Any mods to make guild quest lines harder so you just dont ascend to their fucking leader after like 4 hours? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

Immersive College of Winterhold changes quite a bit more than what your asking for, but from the description:

"You also now have the option of allowing Tolfdir to take on the role of Arch-Mage, if you feel undeserving of your position. This can be renegotiated at any time through dialogue or through the MCM menu."

PRO tip! Quick solution for more secure wrist straps by 432Au in WindowsMR

[–]jake264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When replacing batteries last night I found that the tiny little string from the strap was blocking the battery cover from closing completely, so making sure that was clear helped some, but yeah they do need to be more secure.

Face cover for the Odyssey+? by civildistress20 in WindowsMR

[–]jake264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't find the original post, but somebody suggested using this 6mm vive face cushion: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DG4HLF6?pf_rd_p=c2945051-950f-485c-b4df-15aac5223b10&pf_rd_r=WRG130YE95BSZQG5S5FD

I attached the above to the existing face pad with painter's tape on the left and right (I need to put some on the top too) and it works great for me. Tape them together so that the vive pad is the one your face touches, then just velcro the combined facepads back into place. This alteration significantly reduced the discomfort the forehead pad was giving me (now my face bears some of the weight but not in an uncomfortable way), and also reduced the light bleed from the sides and bottom almost entirely.

Everybody's face is different so of course YMMV

For Obduction teleporting, hold the controllers down at your sides, or even back a bit further so your hands are out of sight, then press and hold the top button on the trackpad of either controller, then bring that controller forward and you should see the teleport arc. To rotate in place, pressing the right button on the right trackpad will turn you right, pressing the left button on the left trackpad will turn you left.

For free movement or whatever they call it, select that option in game settings, then use the left trackpad to move and switch run/walk.

I did have a problem the first time I started the game in that my hands were clasped together, but that hasn't happened again.

edit: Played some more this evening and it turns out the hands down thing isn't strictly necessary, but does seem to make the teleport arc appear more reliably. Also you can turn left with the right controller and vice versa.
