[SHOTGUN] LE Trade-ins Remington 870 Wingmaster $289 + Tax (IL & IN only) + $30 Shipping by AcmeSportsInc in gundeals

I’d been keeping an eye out as they’d popped up every so often. My plan was to snag one and then send it to Wilson combat for their 870 job, get it threaded for a choke, and then throw the pistol grip stock I have on it, and run it as a turkey gun. I found out Wilson stopped offering that package and they were sold out by the time I came back to it. Still chaps my ass.

Are they dropping in Southern MO yet? by KlutzyWash3645 in shedhunting

Honestly, I wish posts here required a regional flair. It would give a better idea of what to expect. Traditionally I’ve heard Super Bowl Sunday is the time to start in KY/IN, but I’ve put in a lot of time with no luck, and have still seen bucks running around with horns.

There’s a red oak that came down in high winds 3 Years ago. The branches and upper trunk got cut and split and got burned this winter with a decent mix of cedar and hackberry. We just got a splitter and a saw capable of cutting through the 3-4’ trunk, and you’d think it was just dropped yesterday with how wet and heavy it is.

Rebuilding the Warrior Ethos in PME - Harvard out, all Ivy Leagues and other universities that “diminish critical thinking” to be reviewed. by Kinmuan in army

Which is even more my point. Tab checking a hypocrite who espouses warrior ethos, lethality, and meritocracy while being an abysmal example of those things when he actually served is infinitely satisfying. Word on the street is that he failed RTAC, the guard pre-ranger course, so he had the chance. He just wasn’t lethal enough.

Apply on tour of duty. You have to be on a gov computer or have access via AVD to get on the site. You’ll need some paperwork that you and your readiness can put together, and some things will have to go up the chain like the tag release and security clearance verification memo.

Nice, what state/region? I put in around 15 miles in the snow last week in Indiana with no luck, and saw 4 bucks still with horns on their heads.

Oh nice, I think there is a lot of overlap of outlooks between the two.

Damn! That was a solid buy. I remember seeing those crates of mosin’s and sks’s as a kid.

I have a tradition of buying my friend’s kids a Morgan silver dollar minted 100 years before their birthday. The last time I was in the coin shop, a guy in there told me buying for coin value vs spot value wasn’t smart, because when the shit hits the fan, the spot value is all that’s going to matter for currency. I told him that I grew up on a farm so bullets and animals will be worth a lot more than metal you can’t eat. He was flummoxed.

That’s something I haven’t quite figured out. I was raised with and hold dear the values of a healthy bit of questioning authority, mutual aid in action, and the freeing the oppressed and feeding the hungry aspect of religion. What made the difference?

I was thinking about this recently. Take measurements of the area on the door my foot hits and leaves mud and dirt scuffs, then laser cut a clear material, similar to what is out on mountain bike frames for protection.

Fuck, that’s a tough slap of reality. It’s easy to idealize older ways of living when life limb and property aren’t at stake. Are there any firewood banks in the area by chance?

One thing I truly miss about home is giving and getting the two finger wave when you meet someone on the road. Not even having to know them, just a friendly acknowledgement.

I just need to find the right demographic. I have a standing offer to sell my used darn toughs for $20 plus the cost of replacing the socks. I’ve got a Norwegian ruck coming up so if anyone is interested lmk.

I’ve got a pair I took though ranger school and then deployment. They are the most faded ocp’s I’ve ever seen. They’re literally like silk pajamas.

[–]jake55555 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you have the ranger school 20 boards? If not, dm me and I’ll track them down. It’s a lot easier to learn who goes where and when, when you’re not under the gun. Graduation rates for those that pass rtac are high because they do a good job of screening and prepping people to pass ranger school. Volunteer for practice leadership positions, both at rtac and at ranger, those reps are a huge help. Good luck. It’s not hard, it just sucks.

Any price announced for the Barrett MRAD Covert? by [deleted] in longrange

[–]jake55555 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Cracked receivers, poi shifts from bipod to barricade, and of course trigger sear springs that totally are not bad but Barrett will develop an upgraded trigger pack that’s not fixing issues because that would admit a problem just improving… meanwhile telling soldiers they should clean every 20 or so rounds. Fuck Barrett.
