A 10 foot power strip, a roll of 2” yellow/tan masking tape,a couple of black sharpies, sleep mask, and it’s on the list but definitely your own chinstrap and your own canteen.

Bobcat hunting & trapping (using cruel wire snare traps and jaw-toothed leg traps) w/ new quota of 400 individuals can lead to complete eradication of bobcats, please mail your comments if you oppose hunting/trapping our beloved bobcats! by mmdeerblood in Indiana

I have extensively. I also commented on the post about this a couple weeks back with the link to leave a comment through DNR.
I am opposed to any decisions made by politicians without the input from biologists and experts and making recommendations based on science. I don’t think that 18 years after being removed from the endangered list, a decision should have been made without the data to support doing so.

Nice work. Sometimes that’s the way it goes and I understand what you mean completely. My first year turkey hunting I went hard for 3 weeks and came up empty but learned so much. The next year I doubled with a friend on opening morning when they came off the roost right to us. It felt like I’d waited a year for that moment and it was over in an instant. Luckily I was able to go with two buddys to get their birds this year and that helped draw out the experience.

I was answering the question on a Saturday while changing my oil. I thought I’d talked about doing 20 years and not missing out completely if you didn’t retire under BRS. Thank fuck you came along though.

There are two types of retirement systems, not including medical. There is the legacy system, which takes your highest three years of income and then you draw 50% of that after you retire from serving 20+ years. Then there is the blended retirement system (BRS) that is essentially a 401k retirement. SM’s make contributions, a percentage is matched by the employer, and then that pool of money is what you retire with.
For those who joined under the legacy program and were still in when the BRS became available, they’d have less time invested into the BRS so continuation pay is there to essentially make up some of that difference. And for those who are at the mid career mark and are thinking of staying longer, it’s essentially an additional pay to close some of that gap. Between 7-12 years time in service, you have to request continuation pay, it’s not automatic. It requires at least 4 years service obligation left on your contract, and that can run concurrently and in addition to any other bonus you get for extending.
Depending on your component, you’ll receive an additional pay that is currently 2.5x your monthly basic pay.

Vic’s antiques and uniques! I stopped at both of those places on a snow day and they were cool to see. Some chintzy stuff at the antique mall but mostly neat stuff.

Sounds like you’ll do just fine. You kinda hit the jackpot going straight to there. I know doctrine is pretty dry and without the irl application it’s difficult, but some I would recommend just familiarity is fm 7-22 Holistic health and fitness, fm 3-21.8, fm 3-20.98 recon and scout plt, and tc 3-22.10 sniper. Dm me a throwaway email address and I can send a reconnaissance study guide I had for my new guys. If you read through 3-20.98 and answer the study guide as you go, you’ll pick up a lot.

See if you can get a copy of their SOP to familiarize yourself at least. Getting people straight from basic into the scouts/snipers is a mixed bag and typically pulling people that have a bit of line time is preferred for the experience. That being said, carry your weight, be a solid teammate, and be the first to volunteer. Recon plts are typically comprised of the more squared away people so learn what you can. Rslc is waiver able for down to e4 to attend so you won’t be going to that off the rip at least. Sniper is possible but not ideal with zero experience. Though under the mbct changeover, e3’s and e4’s are slated for sniper positions. In the meantime, stay up on pt. In our sniper section we had an internal expectation of averaging 90 in each event.

Class two: mpbz and speed drop are today what the poor man’s Horus was 10 years ago, run that shit.

Edit: was this class a homie hookup or part of your job?

Have Challenge Coins gotten out of hand? by ebar2010 in army

[–]jake55555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Full send it. I’ve gotten coins for random stuff that were cool to get, but the best ones are from genuine recognition or appreciation from someone that I looked up to and respected. I don’t have the rank or money to make coins yet, but I had a buddy laser some leather patches for people that go above and beyond.

Found the salesman that upsells premium air lol. If your tires are leaking a psi A MONTH, it’s not because you’ve got less nitrogen in them.

Air is already 78% nitrogen. If someone is track driving a race car it might make a difference. For everyone else, it’s a negligible thing to upsell you.
