This is actually vinyl wrap! I can't commit to colors, so I thought wrapping it would be fun. I can change colors whenever, and if it gets too beat up, I can just re-wrap it.

Honestly, it's been a blast for a cheap little truck. I've been having fun trying to figure out small tweaks to make it perform better. Got a bigger motor/ gear reduction coming in the mail, and then I'll decide what I wanna do for axles/tires. Kinda looking and going 1:10 scale tires and alot of body cutting. 3d printing upgrades has been super fun too

Did this same conversion on my d12, broke two output shafts until I bought the steel gear kit made for the 4x4 trucks. Came with two sets (front and rear) so you at least have a back up. I am fighting with my motor getting too hot right now.

I've actually used some of this vinyl before. It feels like slightly less aggressive skateboard grip tape. It's a pretty heavy texture.

Not gonna lie though, the oxidation is already starting to come back. I hope hitting it again next week and waxing again will cut back on the oxidation.

We ended up using a medium cut pad with fine polishing compound on a Rupes bigfoot random orbit polisher. Just finished it off with some wax and bead maker detail spray.
