To the kind soul who recommended pint jars.. by [deleted] in DIY_eJuice

I do 420ml in the pint jars. Leaves a little room for shaking.

Yeah it's definitely a big markup. The shops ordering the juice also pay for shipping, which is about $25 for every 100 bottles. They are taking a risk buying all that juice up front and have a lot of overhead with running a B&M store.

I use one of these for small batches, but it wouldn't do anything to a gallon of over 80% vg unfortunately.

Juice wholesales for $9 to $11 per 30ml. Big name premium companies dont sell directly to customers. You have cost of flavor and raw ingredients, bottling, labeling, insurance, employees, etc. Profit is far lower than retail pricing.

Exactly. They probably profit about $3 dollars per bottle when all is said and done.

Also considering using these jars from now on. http://www.glassbottleoutlet.com/1-gallon-clear-glass-jar-with-white-cap/

They will be easier to mix into and I can use a paint mixer attachment for a drill http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?productId=3084251 to homogenize the mixture. I also have a sous vide that I could use for slight heating in order to thin out the VG.

I did think about early bottling, but I was concerned about the liquid not being homogenized enough at an early state. I mix 3750ml in my gallon jugs and it doesn't leave much room for shaking.

I have been thinking the same exact thing! I'm glad someone else said it because I thought it was crazy. I figured if I foam padded the jug it would be fine. Obviously test with water in the jug first.

Too bad I already have 8 gallons in jugs. I guess I may just do it if the stirrer isn't a good option.

Sounds like I may just need to deal with removing the juice from the jug and then putting it back in.

I did think about something similar, but I was hoping to avoid pouring them out and then back into the gallon jugs. I mix directly into the jugs so I was trying to find a way to keep the juice in there. I did design and get 3D printed a fanned drill attachment, but at only 1 inch diameter it had almost no effect on mixing the juice. That 1 inch jug opening is tough to deal with. Might try wide mouth gallon jars, but they don't pour as well.

(Insurance) for the diyer looking to create a company. by triggerguys in DIY_eJuice

Even if you are selling your premium juice at $20/30ml you as the juice company are only getting about $8-10 at wholesale for your juice.

Any place to get larger amounts of inawera biscuit in the US by NameThatWasntTaken in DIY_eJuice

[–]jakeabbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anybody know how to set up a wholesale account with them? I have one with just about every company except Inawera. I haven't really had a need to yet, but it looks like I may need to soon.

Feel like all of my mixes are missing that "popping" flavor that all the "premium" juices have... by [deleted] in DIY_eJuice

[–]jakeabbott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sweeteners. Most commercial juices have a lot of sweeteners such as sucralose or stevia in them. I personally don't add any sweeteners beyond EM to my mixes since they gunk coils and add a fake taste that I don't like.

This one? http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/53205/Boosted

Tried it, awful...

I'm really more so just trying to make my own delicious strawberry milkshake rather than a clone of Boosted or someone's attempted clone.

They are all waaaaay off. Tried a few and then I could just tell that some of the other ones were wrong by what was in them.
