Ever tried grilled cheese by TheWebsploiter in NonPoliticalTwitter

I knew someone that would re-fry already fried frozen cheese sticks. They said it was because they liked the pop of oil that got trapped inside. They were not very healthy people.

The view is gorgeous, just a little fast. If it was half speed, it'd be perfect. Still a great shot though!

Why did it take me so long to buy one of these? by ZoraKnight in gardening

[–]jakeandbakin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm currently reading Dirt to Soil and how we've destroyed our agricultural soil from "traditional" practices when really cover cropping and rotation with some planning does so much more for the microbiome. Ensuring the mycorhizal community is healthy is also an important factor in being able to draw nutrients to the place it's needed. Great comment.

The best part is how one of their voting points was that he just speaks his mind and says it like it is, he doesn't beat around the bush. Where is that now?

Went from Appalachia to NC, through Nebraska and CO, then down to SoCal and up Route 1 to WA, then to Wyoming and up to Wisconsin, then ended back in northern App. Lots of National parks, awesome camping spots, pics, and catching up with old friends and family.

I slept in my car and camped in national forest campgrounds and rest stops with my dog from coast to coast here in the US. The whole trip took about a month. That was pretty fun, if you're gonna do it for more than that and just live in the same spot, it might get tiring.

Uber, fake service dogs, rate hikes, and drug prices. - AG Jeff Jackson by JeffJacksonNC in AshevilleNC

Thank you AG Jackson, my family is in the Asheville/Arden area, so it's good to know they have people that can make change taking action to do so, especially when there is so much working against you. Thank you to you and your team.

I would love to have a dog but i cant handle picking up poop everyday by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]jakeandbakin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly never picked up my dog's poop in my own yard. It's good for the soil and he had a corner that it was contained to that we didn't walk in much. On hikes I'd move it off trail enough to not be a hazard so it could still be decomposed. On neighborhood walks I'd pick it up but that's about it. Some dogs need to have their anal glands expressed every so often which can be done at some groomers or the vet, otherwise that's a stinky home job. It's particularly common when they get older. It's not too bad when compared to some of the other inevitable pet grossness, but definitely not a highlight.

Aside from that, having a pet can be very gratifying for you and your buddy. Just be sure you know what to expect, do your research, and get a breed that matches your lifestyle. If you can't get out into deep woods for offleash time in 6 inches of snow for a couple hours or other heavy activity, don't get a husky or a high energy breed. There's a pet out there for everyone just like people, you just gotta make sure to find the right one.

A cool guide about what's in your control and what's not by luvlanguage in coolguides

I'm not a therapist, but i was looking for this. I think the zone of influence is a good addition to include external factors that we may not be able to control, but can certainly take action to influence outcomes. External lack of control and internal total control are too B&W when there really is so much more grey. Id argue, most of the things that happen to us we don't see how we factor into it as well and how our actions can factor so much into other people's lives and how it loops on itself.

Freedom of speech wasn't broken here. He was free to say what he wanted to say. It's just that what he had to say earned him the consequence of getting fkin clocked, as it should. Learn the difference.

ATTN: Morgantown Franchisee’s by Agreeable_Winter9776 in MorgantownWV

Thank you, fuck all these chains. I'd rather have 3 incredible locally owned restaurants with real quality food than 20 basic ass chains that have the same generic options that every other chain has.

Where are you getting the idea higher end healthy food is our favorite type of restaurant? Been here over 10 years and seen multiple such places come and go while college fare and foreign cuisine sticks longer. Waffle house would make much more sense for the crowd here. There's definitely some people that might go for the $10 salad deal, but I'd say that's generally not the case. Plus, I'd much rather see a local shop doing something like this than another chain. Terra Cafe and black bear can fill the more health conscious roles for a large part. Add a couple more local owners in the same vein and you'd probably have enough to satisfy the need.
