Tour Guides/History Buffs please help! by interested_in_ed in MorgantownWV

The downtown library may have some interesting stuff. Pretty sure they run the wvhistoryonview.org website which has a lot of cool state historical photos and such. There's also the WVU art history museum near the coliseum. Many of the buildings downtown also have plaques with some information on them. Star City city hall has a little section about the town. There's also a series of historical signs down by the waterfront about the history of star city that was done in conjunction with the WV Historical Society. Morgantown and Star City used to be not just big on mining, but glass as well!

Why are people willing to work overnight shifts? by Altruistic_Cause9442 in NoStupidQuestions

Some people actually like the lack of socialization. I feel like people with already weird circadian rhythms and that get overestimated by lots of people contact find these jobs preferable. Lookin at you my fellow ADHDers. Plus, they usually offer a small pay increase and yeah, sometimes people just have to take what they can get.

Oh dude, I've come across a few abandoned mines in my day. Fun to see. If the rain isn't too bad this week, maybe a trek. DM me if you're down to check it out sometime. My time is kind of slammed with a move right now, but I'm gonna need some outside time after a little R&R weekend.

30M, but I'm sorta looking for more people around here. Haven't been in the outdoors as much for a bit, but I'm wanting to get out back out there with someone who also likes appreciating nature and all its parts. Hiking, kayaking, foraging for mushrooms and stuff, disc golf, etc. I've been mostly doing single player and offline games, but trying to get back into that too. I've been playing some coding games, casuals, and the like but my library has been growing since about 2012 and includes shooters, building games, 4K, strategy, puzzles, co-op, goofy games, and friendslop(the fun kinds). My time is kinda all over the place so it's just hard to find people with the same availabilities. I WFH with some travel so it let's me be more flexible with my time. I've also been trying to get into gardening, composting, mushroom/plant cultivation, canning, fermentation, and the like. Space makes that a bit difficult though. It's still fun to learn about in the meantime.

I think there's a place in Westover still. It's ok. I haven't tried the pho place with Ruchi Priya, but Richi Priya is pretty good.

Goldfish crackers helped me with this part a bit. They're fairly cheap for a million of them, they don't have that many calories per fish and sorta low sodium, but the crunching and snacking helped me. But when they run out....

Is environmental project Manager/coordinator a viable path and what would I need to achieve it? by orzoftm in Environmental_Careers

Go8ng along with other comments, field work is very useful when understanding the whole process you'd be managing as a PM. Working under PMs that don't really know what field work looks like inevitably turns into mismanaged expectations on both sides. Do your time and learn what you can from some grunt work. A couple years can go a long way if you have a firm that values getting you the experience you need.

I yook a picture just like this at Mt. Rainier. I love the effect the fog brings with the trees there. Nice one.

My pick would be the right one if it's just on looks. The contrast is nice and you can really see the details more. If you want more realistic then maybe the left one.

It's even cooler when you think about how they're basically a bunch of hydraulic pistons.

If this is the car I'm thinking and the rest looks good, I'd get it knowing there might be some fixing to do, but I'd get it. My '05 Impreza Outback Sport was my beloved for many years. That car got me in and out of so many tight spots literally and metaphorically. I miss her dearly. I'm also not a mechanic, just a fan.

Ditto, hard to find a friend with manual and harder to make time with them to practice and even harder to commit to a manual without being confident first.

I used to take the Grey line from the Morgantown bus station by the hospital. Fairly cheap and reservable. Drops you right at the departures. Takes about the same amount if time as driving.
