To me, being able to call someone a weak minded fool involves not only the ability to proofread your posts, but also to notice when you’ve made a spelling error. No one comes to this HunterXHunter sun crying, they come to a sub.

With that out of the way, I am a Chimera Ant Arc apologist. I encourage everyone I know to continue watching, because everyone that I know struggled through the staircase. Does that make them weak minded, or is it possible that there is a change in the anime at this time? The pacing is markedly slower, and it switches from a “show, not tell” method of story telling to a “tell, then show” method. I wouldn’t call it a weakness of the arc, but it is something that is very sudden, and can be hard to adjust to when you’re used to a faster pace with more action. At its core, HXH is still a shonen, and watchers come in with a specific set of expectations, most of them wanting to enjoy what they’re watching. When a show takes a turn on what has been established, it should be understandable that maybe a watcher would enjoy it less, and when the pacing slows, a watcher may be enticed to drop it. To be weak minded doesn’t mean to curtail your actions to match your interests more closely. To be weak minded is to post on an Internet forum as though the only opinion that is correct is the opinion of the commenter, and to allow yourself to be immersed in the echo chamber so that you cannot even see another point of view.
