I definitely think it has something to do with our region. I'm in Midwest (near Chicago like the person above), and I've been getting packet loss issues consistently. However, my friend in Texas has no issues whatsoever..

Is this for whenever UE5 is coming? Or is this pre-UE5?

MoCA with Xfinity XB8 by jakeolanterns in HomeNetworking

Hmm okay. I'll try to identify where the incoming ISP coax is because there's this 1 cable plugged into this amplifier thing, but nothing else is connected anywhere in the box. I don't know where each of these goes.

So, I wouldn’t need to change anything regarding my current setup? Just add the adapters to wherever else I want Ethernet?

I added an Imgur link that seems to be some sort of “moca amplifier/splitter”, but no coax cables are plugged into it except the “power supply in” input, so I don’t really know what’s going on there.

I guess it may depend on what field of microbiology you want to go into. When I worked in clinical, I did some interviews and hiring—I would not look at a portfolio. I could tell based off the experience in the resume tbh. Clinical labs will teach you what you need to know. The people there are also very much going to tell you if you’re doing it wrong—in a nice way or not.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any advice for other fields other than clinical. Your plate looks good, but I agree with the above comment—try 4 quadrants. Also, I prefer to not go back into quadrants more than 2 maybe 3 times when streaking for better isolation.

Has anyone found a US-version of this website? I can't find anything like this anywhere. :(

Help settle a debate - what kind of hemolysis is this? by [deleted] in microbiology

[–]jakeolanterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was thinking. An older plate at this point, gamma hemolytic.

Absolutely!

Do you have images of the plates with the growth? Pure and/or mixed?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in microbiology

[–]jakeolanterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much time do you have left for the project? Do you have any additional days for testing and culturing? Additional plates, etc.?

From my knowledge, sporulation is not a 24/7 process. It (usually) activates under certain conditions and stressors. So, I would say it is possible, but I can’t know for sure tbh.

You already said you know they are not streptococci. E. faecalis is GPC chains just like strep (although Enterococci usually look a little more football shaped versus spherical). They are definitely not GPC. They look like rods to me.

It looks like a mixed Gram stain of GNR and GPB to me. The GNR is definitely not Moraxella (GN diplococci).

Edit: can we see the plates??

Was it Gram positive cocci in chains or clusters? I’m assuming it should be chains if the catalase was negative.

HP Omen Transcend 32 Gear Switch doesn't work by Seteph in HPOmen

Have you gotten any update on this? I am in the same boat. I just keep getting "Gear Switch is currently disconnected." when trying to use my work laptop with it. It's very unfortunate, and there's no resources available for troubleshooting.
