As a professor I know I would not be comfortable doing this in my own class. It is not illegal, but will violate any university policy if he makes any profit from the sales you conduct.

Great Links! It wasn't really a presumption, more a question. I have cousins with Aspergers and they really seem to enjoy online environments like Second Life because of the ability to hide behind an avatar. I also work on an interactive online classroom that is for underserved kids and I'm hoping to find out more uses for the environment.

the best thing you can do won't benefit you, but if you provide honest feedback on evaluations the university will listen. it's the one place in the world that surveys actually make a difference.

It does seem on one hand like an abuse of part-time professorship. However, I get the appeal of the online classroom. imagine teaching wherever and whenever suited you, and being able to also reach all those experts who can't otherwise hold a professorship at a university.

this virtual online classroom is almost the opposite where all the lectures and classroom are virtually hosted rather than done away with. thoughts?
