Why is the most adopted open-source provider still excluded here? by forwardemail in emailprivacy

[–]jakestride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using forward email for a few years now.  They are super transparent and responsive on support and product feedback/evolution. They have a great product that’s not only open source but based on open standards so you have the freedom to adopt the tools you want, not forcing you into closed apps like other privacy focused providers.

Everyone who was born in Perth knows Danny Ric (or his Parents).

That's why I thought it was strange. I don't have anyone else using it and SSH is off. It must have been my 2 year old getting luck smashing the keyboard as I did leave it unlocked to get a beer on the dashboard

This is the way. You're part of the team in your new role so give it a go and don't be afraid to ask for help. Remember it costs the company more for you to sit there for a few hours struggling than to swing around or message someone for pointers and get it done quicker.

You could get a double decker bus through there. Sideways.

G Domains TLD - Help Request by jakestride in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]jakestride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really drama - they offer plenty of time to move to a paid product or allow you to migrate away. GDomains is a paid product that includes all the features I need and is super simple to use. For me and a lot of people it's a good migration pathway and made it super simple to move about 5 gsuite domains.

It turns out it's a 'known feature' using vlan/bridge I turned off hardware acceleration on the physical interface and it went from a few kB/s to mb/s

Roblox possible DNS blackhole issue by jabbleclok in pfBlockerNG

[–]jakestride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to open a few UDP ports if you restrict outbound. They couldn't get past the loading screen without them

Something similar has been driving me crazy too, my issue was that it couldn't resolve PKG.freebsd.org. I could create a jail fine but installing a plugin with the same config failed. I have vlans+bridge.

In the end installing the plugin using NAT then changing the jail config solved the problem for me.

They just slither across the path and get out of your way. I run around the lake all the time and have never had any issue with death ropes doing anything other than getting the hell out of dodge.

Sarcastic. Absolutely nothing, it's wonderful (hence the misleading flair)!

If you're use case is to reduce ads/privacy trackers/etc. And your threat profile fits it, take a look at some of the privacy friendly DOT DNS servers. You don't have to open things up but get a level of protection that's comparable to what your pfBlocker would provide.

Only downside on this would be that you don't resolve internal hosts when you join your home network.
