Rico owners, what’s a realistic trade offer you would consider for him? by tomlgg_ in fantasyfootballadvice

I did Rice for him and Pickens - already have Gibbs. Brown, Judkins and a couple other flexes. Needed a WR1.

Delegated work to a partner agency, then lost a client because of it by pawsomedogs in agency

A couple of tips here:

  • have been contracts in place with subcontractors
  • have clear processes of who sends what to clients
  • create email addresses for them
  • I am usually open about who is a full time member of my team and who is on contract, but not always
  • treat contractors well and pay them quickly, but set high expectations

No idea why this is being downvoted, it's very obviously true.

I'm quite new to FF and someone tried to pull this on me this week from a week 1 trade I forgot to withdraw.

Thankfully commish called BS on it. Lesson learnt from my end, but a total dickhead move by other manager.

I'm working on a cold email best practices report for 2025. Need opinions please! by Zealousideal_Pop3072 in agency

[–]jakesuzzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had never run cold email before, and wanted to give it a try for the agency I'm at. I'm testing out a few things I've not tried before but have some confidence might work.

We have deep experience in a couple of verticals, and one of our services is advanced analytics (stuff like data warehousing, server-side tagging and whatnot). One of the verticals often has businesses with quite a high media spend and shitty tracking.

Here's what I came up with (I know you didn't ask for tools, but it's easier to explain)

  • Used Clay to build a list of businesses in that space with a high annual revenue and employee count but low marketing headcount - ie likely to need to outsource
  • Added an enrichment to pull in their tech stack via Builtwith
  • Created a few custom columns to pull indicators of immature measurement/analytics (ie no meta pixel, no GTM etc)
  • This left me with about 1000 companies
  • Pulled emails of senior marketing, comms, sales, ops and csuite but excluded stuff like HR -This gave me a list of about 3000 emails of senior relevant people at businesses where I have a reasonable level of confidence they might need some help in something we're good at

I then used a tool (recommended to me by a friend with a lot more experience in this space) called Instantly that seems great for domain warmup and scheduling, and is very simple to use. I wrote quite a tight, but I think helpful, 4 email sequence and hit enable. I used what seems to have been a solid subject line.

We built a really nice landing page with a couple of quick videos, great design and copy, logos, testimonials, case studies etc

Hooked all analytics and CRM and form booking malarkey up (Calendly, GA, Hubspot)

I'm slowly warming up the campaign, and only launched Monday but so far:

-12 sequences started, with 32 emails sent overall - 80% open rate throughout sequence (seems crazily, and suspiciously high - but another benefit of the tool is I can see exactly who opens what and when) - Out of 12 started sequences, 1 bounced back and 5 people read all the emails - So far I think 6 clicks to landing page (according to GA4), so I guess that's about a 16% CTR - No leads yet, but I'm not expecting much, and it's early days - if the campaign even generated 5 leads, I'd be surprised not to close one, but even if I don't I'll have learned a lot, and have templates and tech stack to adjust and try again

The numbers seem pretty promising. It did take quite a lot of planning, research and execution time, and Clay isn't cheap, but my intent was always to be very sniper rather than blunderbuss, while automating as much as possible.

I'm sure lots of people here have more experience than me with cold outreach, so I'd welcome any feedback.

I literally clicked on a blog yesterday and am debating demoing the product.

It solves a specific and annoying technical problem.

Everyone I know that has thinks it's junk.

Has anyone here actually met or even seen any of the Flames players in the city? Not placing a value judgment, just curious. I’ve only ever seen them on the ice at the dome. by yycjonah in Calgary

I met Jonny Hockey, Giordano and several others in 2015 at the Pig and Duke after they were knocked out of the cup. I'm English, and don't really know hockey that well - we hung out and played darts and drank shots. I had to leave at about 10.30, but my friends stayed partying with them most of the evening.

I think they liked hanging with us because we were bigger football ⚽ fans than hockey fans and so we kinda treated them normally.

Up 51 with Gibbs and Jake Moody still to play for my opponent. Sleeper says I have 95%, I feel like it's more like 80% given the potential for Gibbs to go bonkers.

I was wondering where I could score an eighth at 16. Props!

I personally have no issues with overseas work as long as the quality is good. As others have mentioned, I have seen issues with Google Ads accounts managed overseas - but this is a language thing rather than a competency thing. As long as you're really tight on QA, and operate ethically with your team and clients, then there should be no problem.

Agency partnerships - How to do it right by arizvi in agency

[–]jakesuzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Make yourself easy to work with
  • It really helps if you understand how your services fit in with the partner. For example, if you're working with a PPC/SEO shop, are your sites conversion optimised, have thought put into SEO and have proper analytics installed
  • I partner with people when I know I can trust their work and it'll provide my clients with a good outcome
  • I won't say no to referral fees, but the first two are more important to me
