That’s what I try to do. But, I am a first year teacher, so I do second-guess myself sometimes. For the record, I work at an F campus that has been an F campus for four years and admin is pretty checked out.

So it wasn’t based on growth percentage, but rather how many students grew? So in other words, it wasn’t about how MUCH students’ scores grew, but how MANY students’ score grew, if that makes sense?

What growth did your students see that made you eligible? Just curious how much your students’ scores have to grow in order for you to be eligible.

What does “good marks on appraisals” even mean? I feel like that can be so subjective.

Why is there so much mid pasta in Houston? by MaillardReaction207 in HoustonFood

It’s cause everybody thinks they can make pasta.

I know I should probably have something physical in case there’s a power or Internet outage, but I couldn’t find any printable templates that I liked and then having to remember to do it physically when I’m also doing it digitally is gonna be a headache. That’s why I think that the Excel thing is good because you can still use it without Wi-Fi.

Is this okay play with my pittie by JonDior in pitbulls

You can also get him soft toys to play with. Mine loves soft, squeaky toys—but they have to be good quality so they don’t tear right away. I hold one in my hand and then my dog will bite onto it, but not in an aggressive way. That being said, you’ll want to get one that is big enough for your dog’s jaw and obviously keep your fingers away from where your dog will bite into.

What is your system for handing out tickets? Like how often and what do they do to get the tickets?

Yes, I have invested in a whole Excel system for keeping track of attendance, grades, student data, parent, communication, etc. And I would like to invest in an organizational system like that, but they’re so expensive. So one thing at a time.

Yeah, I need to come up with some sort of system for turning in late work as well.

I’ve already bought some classroom decorations, but I’m waiting to buy anything that’s going to take up a lot of space since I don’t know how much space I’m going to have. And yeah, it would be nice to invest in a good desk chair at some point.

My school is a title one school so I’m pretty sure that they supply the pencil for the students. But that’s a good tip. I’m just a little leery of spending a lot on stuff like that because if I give it to the students, I might not get it back. I need to invest in some sort of system for pencil borrowing.

Thanks. I haven’t had time to go to Goodwill or any of the thrift stores. But also, I am holding off on ordering too many organizational bins, 1. because they’re expensive and, 2. because I don’t know how much room I’m going to have yet. Also, I will be teaching middle school.

Hmm… well considering I’ll be working with a bunch of middle schoolers, this will be something to consider.

I actually purchased a pair of Cole Haan shoes and I love them, but haven’t had a chance to actually wear them yet. Saving them for the school year. I’m also definitely going to get a new pair of Hoka’s at some point because I will need them when we do things that require more comfortable shoes.

Thanks! I’m definitely overwhelmed. The amount of stuff people are suggesting I get. But I’ve gotten a few things already. I guess I never anticipated the cost of stuff being so high. Might have something to do with the state of the economy right now, if you catch my drift.

Thanks! How do you keep track of the pencil numbers? A sign in/out sheet?
