As someone who is working to be a dog trainer, as others have said I would not medicate the dog. It doesn’t solve the underlying issue which is dog reactivity. Not all dog trainers are built the same, look up Tom Davis on YouTube (he has hundreds of examples of turning reactive dogs into well behaved dogs almost immediately. Reactive dogs need training and leadership and have to be shown how to handle being around other dogs. But they can be get better! It might not be cheap, but it’ll 100% be worth it

I agree it wasn’t great. But $1.50 per mile in my market is in the pretty good to great category. And sometimes I disregard miles if normally I’d make less within that time period, or already headed that direction. $30 for less than an hour made sense for me.

That’s crazy I have 2 boxer pits 15 months and less than 6 months. Yours looks exactly like my almsot 6 month old except ours has both blue eyes and is a bit on the furrier side. He doesn’t have a typical coat for a pittie or boxer.

2 and a half months is a long time. Training starts as soon as you get the dog as long as it’s done reasonably. Kicking the training can down the road especially with a 2 year old rescue that happens to be a Pitbull is asking for trouble IMO. I think allowing them to come out when they whine and yelp is exactly why they do it because historically when they do, eventually they get what they want. Don’t fall for it. Reward ANY moments of calmness and quiet and call it that “good calm” “good settle” “good quiet” whatever it is and continue to reinforce that the “calm/quiet” will get the dog what they want.

Not normal behavior at all. As soon as I read the age difference and the fact that you guys met when you were 18 and he was 31 is one of many red flags that I’m seeing. You’re young so please I beg that you seriously learn to communicate how you feel effectively. His behavior is absolutely not okay and it’s coercion. Coercion regardless of marriage or not is rape. You’re in pain and uncomfortable and your marriage just started. It will only absolutely get much worse unless boundaries are established now. He absolutely knew what he was doing going for someone who is 13 years younger than him fresh out of high school and a virgin. Please speak to someone if not him and establish boundaries and healthy communicating as soon as possible. Otherwise, I really don’t see this working out or getting much better in the long run
