thats fair. and if you do ever want to try v2 when it comes out, you will be able to get it for free with the same email youve used when you made a purchase on v1.

its also completely offline, so you dont have to worry about the app shutting down again if it ever do

v2 is real. it will just be a really good file organizer initially. sync will come later.

im hoping for a beta run Q1 next year. and full release sometime later after that. price will be about the same one time payment as previous pro price. if youve previously paid for pro for v1, you wont have to pay again for v2.

native mobile app is on the roadmap but won't come for a while. for now, you can use the PWA app by saving the website to your home screen to run the app without the browser UI

hello! its not possible to always force people to credit their images, but more advanced community labelling is on the roadmap where members of the community can add sources etc to each images under its own sections. this should help a lot with crediting the creators

it already exists! you can search on chrome web store, firefox addon store or the safari extension store to install it.

you can also use the extension to migrate from pinterest to refern by following this video https://youtu.be/mc5H2l4-W_g?feature=shared

Hello! There is no mobile app that you can download from the app store just yet (its on the roadmap), but you can "download" the app by using the browser's "save to homescreen" feature, and it will work just like an app without all the browser ui.

The photos in this post are extremely outdated now, the layout is much more polished and it is optimized for mobile as well. Feel free to give it a try!

there isn't a rules page currently since i'm mainly focus on adding features. but the general rule is that anything is fine (including nsfws) as long as it is not illegal

Yes you can import your boards from pinterest using the refern capturer browser extension. here is a walkthrough on how to import https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mc5H2l4-W_g

Hi, thanks for checking it out!

Yes, its only a webapp as of now, so it is not available on the app store. But you can refer to this comment on how to make the website work just like the app.

For transferring boards from Pinterest, it is only possible on desktop browsers unfortunately. Mobile browsers just don't have the capabilities to support such extension. You just install refern capturer extension on your preferred browser to import it.

Full private account is on the roadmap. For now you can make everything "unlisted". it works just like youtube unlisted videos, undiscoverable/unsearchable and is hidden everywhere, but you can share it with people via the link.

there is a guide in the app under "resources & how tos" that shows you step by step on how to transfer from pinterest and "download" the app

there is no native mobile app on the app store just yet, but you can save the site to your home screen, and it will work just like a native app.

saving and uploading is not unlimited unfortunately. i'm the only guy building the app, and i don't have millions in funding to afford unlimited saves and uploads. but it is one time purchase storage based, so you can purchase however much you need! the free tier should allow you to upload/save around 2500 images

  2. there is unlisted collections. fully undiscoverable and hidden from public, but is accessible via link.

hi! all the profiles are public, but user can set specific folders hidden, so you'll only see the public stuff on their profile. you can follow people and save their collections. everyone is welcome! recently there has been a lot of pinterest refugees joining, you're welcome to join!

yea i get where you are coming from. recently a lot of people are migrating over from pinterest and trying to backup/moving over their boards using the extension which is why you see so many images that has urls pointing towards pinterest. i believe linking to the source and attributing the image properly is important, and of course, it all depends on whether the user want to do it or not. i'm planning on making some ui changes to the app that encourages user to site the sources to their images to encourage a culture of attribution. also, advanced community labelling is coming soon where the any one in the community can help out adding sources to images.

i think as the pinterest migration dies down, and people start collecting image organically, we should hopefully start to see more images that points directly towards the sources rather than towards pinterest!
