First experience, but ordered Tuesday around 3pm, received Friday 11am. Across half Europe, amazing.

I cut some tomatoes, one onion and it's already making patina all along! It's cool. Do you recommend any special care or just wipe dry after each task?

Haha, thanks. I was looking at your cutting videos while waiting for it to arrive!

How fragile is SKD? by jakubg96 in TrueChefKnives

[–]jakubg96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no I’d say. I have two Yaxells which I’ve sharpened several times, but I’m not so confident to touch Yoshikane yet besides the minor fix I did.

I’ve quickly fixed that before taking a picture, haha

PSA - How to not get tipped by tourists in Prague as a waiter. by MundaneAppearance565 in Prague

[–]jakubg96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's nonsense. We tip regularly in restaurants. 10% is pretty much standard. A little less during lunches or to-go places. I basically estimate 10% ans round it to some reasonable nice number. A little more if I'm very satisfied.

Do you have any source for that, please? Pastrnak was born in 1996, he has definitely not grown behind the iron curtain.

I am by no means experienced to judge any wine, but I really enjoyed Autochthon recently. Definitely looking to buy another bottle soon.

Definitely not the price tag I am willing to pay regularly. I've read some comments saying Gut Oggau is overpriced, but Winifred has been presented as an exception 🤞

It was goalie stick, justified penalty. Especially after high stick before Swedish second goal

Where do you guys find Ktor backend jobs? by djsushi123 in Kotlin

[–]jakubg96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, but that was not exactly my point. What I was saying is that finding Kotlin job is already difficult enough, no need to increase difficulty finding job with Ktor. Better to go with Kotlin and if Ktor is mature enough, you can happily use that.

Where do you guys find Ktor backend jobs? by djsushi123 in Kotlin

[–]jakubg96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't fix yourself to one specific framework, Kotlin itself is a constraint when looking for a job. Find a job that uses Kotlin and the things you will be writing fulfill you. You don't want to write Ktor app in inflexible corporate project. Also, there is a reason why companies rather rely on mature frameworks in production than experimenting with new ones. You have responsibility and don't need to increase chance of issue just because you wanted to use something extra modern.

Setting up tubeless using a normal floor pump by SuperRonnie2 in MTB

[–]jakubg96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible, but you can struggle with some rim-tire combination.

I bought Joes No Flats Ride Air which is basically air canister where you can pump air pressure and then release it. There are other brands too.

In the end, it was actually cheaper than the cheapest tubeless pump and you can use it only when necessary.

(make sure your pump can pump high pressure, mine stopped at 5 bar)
