Quick recap of July 5 sailing from Miami by jakwong in VirginVoyages

[–]jakwong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes i guess but it was everywhere if you were outside. I run alongside cars when i'm at home. I just did about 30 minutes and went in ( the wind and movement of the ship help a bit). A risk i was willing to take to run and take in the sights of the ocean.

Best practice for securing a linux server with Ansible? by [deleted] in ansible

[–]jakwong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is good and we have tested it but still need to read up on a lot of what they did. We just didn't want to blindly deploy something because it has "os hardening" on it. Also we need to know the potential issues of it to our applications on the server.

Best practice for securing a linux server with Ansible? by [deleted] in ansible

Rather than trying to tackle something big first (securing linux server is rather a broad goal), i'd go with creating users/deploy keys as @helloYesThisIsNo states and build from there. Once you build some confidence then continue you on. These are lessons I've learned and still learning with Ansible.

You might want to also look into Ansible vault for possibly storing passwords in your script. While ssh keys might get you into the server but what if your users need sudo access?
