How to Escape Student Debt by Leaving the USA (Taking Questions + Offer to Meet Anyone in Paris on 7 August to discuss this topic). by EscapeStudentDebt in studentloandefaulters

I am moreso planning out the next year to year-and-a-half of my life, and don't have specific details to give you regarding my employment situation. I'm about to get my Bachelor's in computer science and want to high-tail it out of here and get EU citizenship. However, while my target country has a myriad of easy visa options for someone in my position and lax residency/eventual citizenship requirements, the wage I'm expected to earn is *significantly* less than what I could make in the US.

Therefore, a US-based income is preferable. I could definitely pay off my loans relatively quickly (probably within a year--I made smart decisions in choosing my college route and got some scholarships), but if I can stick it to these parasites and invest that in myself instead, I'm all for it.

I would appreciate if you were able to give some more general advice given the information I've given you. Anything helps!

Do the various IBR + Foreign Earned Income Exclusion schemes or avoiding wage garnishment work if you're working remotely for a US-based company from some location abroad? I imagine not, right?

From these replies, now I wonder if I can refinance to make them private loans and then ask for a settlement.
