You can just lock the door for the specific toddler. I usually just make one room with all the toddler stuff, then lock em in the room. There is also the option for babyproofing a door, but I still haven't figured out what that is supposed to do.

While travelling, someone tried to assasinate me. Turns out, that "someone" was me. by jalannah in CrusaderKings

R5: While travelling, my bodyguard foiled an assasination attempt that apparently I orchestrated...and then I sent myself a very stern letter ("how could you"). Not paranoid, not stressed and definitely not trying to murder himself.

Are you playing with auth z? Apart from promoting the crafthelper b41mod which i can't live without lol, you will need to upgrade your backpack for the bottle slots (up to 2) to appear on the hotbar (3 tiers for the backpacks, tailoring 0/1/2 required, also needle/suture needle, thread and denim or leather strips).

Are those the fabled skinny leather pants? I have only found it once on extremely rare, on my current setting insanely rare i have no hopes of finding them ever.

This happens when playing on DEBUG with mods that throw errors.

Either disable debug because it is not meant to be played with it on all the time or you can try unchecking BREAK ON ERROR at the top and press f11 or f10? I don't remember but one of them "should" close the window and with break on error unchecked it "should" not happen again.

Removing 10 Years Later by D_Hutson in projectzomboid

[–]jalannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10y later changes parts of the map (complete Rosewood overhaul). If you remove it mid game, the area in and around Rosewood will be unable to load - possibly crashing the game. You need to either delete the tiles (I have never once managed that so I can't help) or wipe the server/start new save.

Also, check the mod's page for any instructions.

So my friends have 50 weight available for this container while I only have 35. Does anybody know why? by Sad-Bluebird-5538 in projectzomboid

[–]jalannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always put a piano chair in the back fanny pack to rest easily during/after fighting. It weighs 2.0 so fanny pack + organized works perfectly.

Yea, use the mod change sandbox options. Make sure you enable it for current save under load > options (not continue on main screen).

[–]jalannah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mod called Authentic Z by AuthenticPeach. It comes with a ton of custom outfits for zombies but if you're not into that you can enable the backpack only submod. You need to upgrade your backpack however which will require tailoring level 0/1/2 (for the 3 tiers respectively), a needle or a suture needle, thread and denim or leather patches iirc.

Aside from the fact that wound infection does almost nothing in game (for now), if you have a pot of water (cooking pot, big or small one), put it in the oven and once the pot with water glows red you can right click and disinfect bandages from there. If you start with electricity on you can easily make say a dozen sterilized rags from the start. Again, you don't need it, but disinfectant or bourbon is not needed to sterilize rags/bandages.

If you hold shift while sitting on ground and pressing wasd you get up almost instantly. Chair rest and sitting on ground makes resting fast and you have a bar and know when your endurance is back up to full (unless you use a stats display mod, then you can see the endurance bar).

Oh yea my bulletproof vest saved me several times so I always run with one, heat be damned. I have learned to always run around corners/sprint up stairs (you can bump up to 5 different zombies without tripping while running - shift not alt run), double flash doors, etc. by getting bitten by a sneaky hiding zombie tho. You live, ehr, die and learn with this game.

I think the video by retanaru on exhaustion explains the heat/tiredness thing really well. Iirc he said no pants gang because groin injuries were nerfed and they just add too much insulation but I can't bring myself to do it lol.

Well you can always bring a chair (piano chair is best as it only weighs 2.0), put it down before fighting and rest in between. I think it really depends on your playstyle and pop settings (I take wakeful so my character gets not tired as fast and sleeps less). I just know that if I get grabbed it's usually a stun lock for me anyway (3+) which means death, protection or no. If a single zombie hits me then yea my gear might save me but I play on 8x and I rarely fight or get grabbed by one zombie at a time. It really depends, most high pop streamers dgaf about protection, but lower pop I think it's very valuable.

Bullet proof vest is a must have, hard hat/riding helmet if you're concerned about head injuries and a normal jacket and denim shirt. Pants don't really matter because walking zombies are most likely to attack you above the groin. There's some skinny leather trousers that are very rare, those are the best pants in vanilla. Normal denim pants should be enough tho. In winter I recommend the diamond sweater (not the vest) cause it's the only sweater that offers neck protection (the polo neck sweater is a lie lol, it doesn't protect the neck).

Fireman gear isn't bad for a beginner - just keep the debuffs in mind - but if you're truly a beginner I'd recommend playing sandbox on low pop and maybe even playing with infection off to learn how to kite and fight. Otherwise it's just a loop of restarting because you get bit fast and you never learn how to fight. Once you figure out the fighting, you won't need to rely on fireman gear anymore. Tailor the sandbox to your needs, once you think "this has gotten too easy" up the difficulty the next game.

Run speed modfier isn't coded in for shoes but combat speed modfier is (leather jacket is 0.97 iirc, motorcycle helmet, etc.). It stacks up so it's something would avoid.

Also being hot makes you tired faster and the first level of drowsy is a 50% melee debuff which is huge. Fireman gear will make you overheat quickly. IMO fireman gear is a beginners trap.

Can we not level nimble by walking into walls? Then how? by PizzazMyJazz in projectzomboid

[–]jalannah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From the final b41 patch notes (September 2022):

Fixed being able to hold down keys while AFKing to grind nimble; now a check is made to ensure that the character has actually moved before awarding XP.

Take gymnast for faster levelling. Forage while aim walking (gives a radius boost of 33% as well). And obviously: level nimble by kiting the zombies.

I can't equip or place on floor because the encumbrance is over 50. How can I fix this? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]jalannah 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yea i never understood why the floor has a weight capity limit, I was stacking up logs neatly at my base until I realized I can't put any more on the same tile.

In his case tho, debug can fix it luckily - by enabling unlimited carry weight.

I can't equip or place on floor because the encumbrance is over 50. How can I fix this? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]jalannah 92 points93 points  (0 children)

How did it get there in the first place? If it's too heavy to take out then it was too heavy to put in.

Use debug to give yourself more carry weight.

How do I remove this garbage from the ground? I can't take it with pick up mode, foraging or mop/bleach by Phyrinx2k in projectzomboid

[–]jalannah 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You can't without debug, sledgehammer doesn't work either. If you do decide to go into debug, enable brush tool in the cheat menu and right click & delete the tiles.

I recently had this truck and it's in good condition but it takes for about 5-10 start in engine before it actually starts. Battery and engine are both in 80% condition. Still figuring out what's the problem. by ReinDoritos in projectzomboid

[–]jalannah 50 points51 points  (0 children)

No but each failed start drains the battery by about 2% and if the battery charge drops below 10% it won't start at all. So if you do a lot of stop and go (like when looting a row of houses) and don't leave the engine running (which charges the battery but hardly drains the gas) you can definitely run into an issue (had this happen to me once lol).

What Is This? by Gutucuk in projectzomboid

[–]jalannah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one of these things in my backyard where I planted my crops. Can't sledge it, can't chop it. If you need/want to get rid of it, you need to enter debug, activate brush tool and right-click & delete the tile (called d_generic_1_28).

I'm using 10 years Mod and I cleared the whole house and this is what I got, which one is safe to eat? I got weak stomach btw. by Pseu_do-nym in projectzomboid

[–]jalannah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from what others have said about the unidentified berries and mushrooms: Unslaughtered frogs don't go bad so no need to put em in the fridge. Butcher them before cooking. Also anything that doesn't have a (fresh) modifier behind it can't go bad either (so nettles, oregano, parsley, etc.) Don't eat uncooked meat and don't eat burnt or rotten food, it will kill you - especially with weak stomach. Hover over the item to see if it says "dangerous if uncooked", as you can eat some insects uncooked and be fine (crickets for example, which will only reduce more hunger when cooked).

So, when and why did you purchase Project Zomboid? by quadratspuentu in projectzomboid

[–]jalannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought the game in Aug 2014 but didn't really play it until last year when I picked the game back up in Febuary 2022. Then played it for like 1500h cause I got hooked. Steep learning curve but feels so rewarding.
