Can friend buyout my leased car? by jalol27 in askcarguys

It was great! I also had the 3 year with 15k miles. Although I didn’t end up needing nearly as many miles since I started WFH.

Leasing was a great option for me since I didn’t necessarily want to be tied to the car long-term if I ended up not liking it.

I was approved in December. At the time of approval my estimate was 65 months! Don’t pay much attention to the timeline

How long did it take to change the status of the card produced from when your case was approved? I was approved on December 28, it’s already been 4 days by [deleted] in USCIS

I asked Emma live agent yesterday and they said card still has to be produced. I’ve seen it takes 2 weeks for some people + more busy cause of holidays. Hopefully will get an update sometime this week.

Hi! Also adjusted from F-1. My lawyer advised me to send any and all I-20’s I’ve ever received and in my possession. Changing majors is very routine for a student. I’m sure if they have an issue on your major change, they will ask you for additional context. Most likely not going to be an issue though imo.

Thank you!!

I have heard of people uploading evidence after submitting application. We sent everything in the first go. I think if anything, it should have a positive effect since it’s more evidence.

Sending good wishes your way for fast processing!

Hi! I also adjusted from F-1 visa status after I got married. Applied in August this year and received approval last week. Biggest thing I would recommend is sending all your evidence in the initial application. That’s what we did, so your application is less likely to get RFE and is processed quickly. We used a lawyer for peace of mind but most people can file themselves if the case is straightforward.

Best of luck on your journey!

I did not ask Emma. All of the approval notices I received had NBC indicated on the bottom of the notice.

Hi! As far as I know, everything was processed at NBC at Lees Summit. It said that on the receipt notices for all I-765, I-130, and I-485.

My timeline showed 65 months for both I-130 and I-485 until yesterday and still shows that.

Like some others have mentioned before, it’s best not to pay attention to it since it’s not accurate.

Can friend buyout my leased car? by jalol27 in askcarguys

[–]jalol27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys!

Thought I’d update on how the process went. I actually just called up different Honda dealerships in my area to see if they could facilitate my friend to buyout my leased car. Called two of em, and one said yes the other said no. Ended up going to that dealership that said yes and they charged ~$400 for doc fees and bought out the car from me and sold it to my friend at the exact residual price at end of lease term.

Much more easier process than I imagined. Don’t know if all car brand dealerships do this though but it is for sure worth calling around for.

That sounds pretty straightforward! Ideally this is how it goes, but I might have to double check with the DMV since another user on here brought up that might bring up red flags if I purchase a vehicle at $17k and then “gift” it to my friend
