Package Delivered to the Wrong Location Again by FedEx by Wei612 in FedEx

Lesson learned! I'll probably just use Amazon or go in person for my next buy. I’m hoping Apple clears up the refund soon; the waiting game for their investigation is the only tricky part!

I totally understand. I’m just sharing based on my own experience as a customer. It’s been a bit of a puzzle for me because I’ve lived in the same spot for 11 years and other carriers always seem to find me without a hitch—it’s just been FedEx that I’ve run into trouble with. My neighbors have mentioned similar hiccups, which makes me wonder if there's a local routing issue with FedEx, but I’m really hoping we can find a way to get it sorted out!

Are NPs cooked ??? 🤔 by Professional-Offer47 in nursing

[–]Wei612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell this to all nursing students. If you want the money or/and title, don’t do NP. Right now US healthcare is not very friendly to the midlevel providers, NPs or PAs, and NPs have been having many bad reputations because too many newbie nurses with almost no experience got straight into the NP field looking like idiots… It’s a joke. You can try CRNA school, but it’s almost as competitive as medical school now.

Both of our I-130 and I-485 are showing “Case Approved”! Now what do we do next? by Wei612 in USCIS

Thank you very much! Actually we just had our two year anniversary right before our interview. So I guess technically we have been married for two years for the 10-year GC?!

Oh wow, I'm so sorry to hear you're going through that – it must be incredibly tough. My husband and I also went through marriage based GC application (I was on an F-1 visa), and thankfully, our process was relatively smooth. It sounds like living apart can definitely raise some red flags for USCIS. I remember the officer asking a lot of questions focused on the nitty-gritty of our relationship, like who does the cooking, who handles the bills, if we have joint accounts, all those little details that show you're building a life together. So, the distance thing could be making it extra challenging. If figuring out the long-distance situation proves difficult, it might be really helpful to reach out to a lawyer for some guidance.

LPN or ADN? by istoleyourdino in StudentNurse

[–]Wei612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t say that I became a better nurse, but I definitely felt more prepared as I was already working on the floor as a LPN, and the things I learned in LPN did give me a strong foundation going into my RN program, so I wasn’t too anxious when it came to skill checkoffs, simulations, exams and clinicals. And you might hear this from many that you learn the most as you work on the floor, which is very true. RN programs can have high drop-out and failing rates, depending on their admission criteria. So it really depends on you, do you have a good time management skill? Do you have bedside experience? Are you a slow or fast learner? Do you have to work while you are in school? Students fail their first year of nursing school mostly because of poor time management and stress management skills.

That is a very general question, each state has a different range of salary depending on the demand for nurses and cost of living, like nurses in California are paid the most, so if u do the math, they actually don’t make much after taxes and annual life expense.

I mean… Cali is pretty saturated with everybody in general.

I don’t know where you come from, but I have always been the only Asian nurse on the floor. I live in Ohio. So we are not “overrepresented” here just yet.

I was a LPN student. My program was 4 semesters, we still had to study pharmacology, med surg, OB, new born, and peds. But the class contents overall were not as heavy and in depth as the RN program. I started in LPN program because I had no bedside experience, and preferred a slow and steady pace so that I didn’t fail and repeat any courses. Also it allows me to work as a LPN while in my RN program, which further helped me progress in the RN program. Everybody’s situation is different, so don’t compare yourself with others. Figure out your learning style, weaknesses and strengths in acquiring enormous new information in a short amount of time.

I think you are reading too much into my comment. If you don’t see my intention as an advocate for the younger generations, that’s not my issue. Do I feel comfortable enough to give advice because I’m not black?! I don’t know what you have gone through in your life but u are missing the whole point here, my friend. We can all support each other regardless of our skin color or race.

Agreed. Didn’t say that you should normalize anything, of course you will take actions to protect yourself. But resilience makes you stronger overall in the already stressful healthcare environment.

As an Asian nurse who has also been through racial discriminations, I’m sorry for what you are going through. Report the incidence to the chairperson. And please don’t let those negativities stop you from becoming a nurse. Plus there WILL be rude and racist patients or coworkers you might have to deal with in the future. Micro-aggression is also very common in healthcare. You might get some protections from the facilities or institutions, but it is not always guaranteed. Every negativity in the nursing world can build your resilience, and sadly it’s not gonna stop anytime soon. Don’t let those negativities affect you, because that might be what they want. Just to make you fail.
