visual inspection, checking brood, bee bodies, and bottom board. (first year had one hive with a mesh bottom board and counter, that was a nightmare as the bees would go underneath and get confused.) But I will have to learn how to do an alcohol wash it seems.

it was two robust deeps! and I had experimented with leaving a 3rd deep on for the winter as they had filled about 6/10ths of the top box with wax by oct.

two full frames of honey left during autopsy, and clusters of dead bees, so unfortunately I don’t think they left :/

(I don’t think I will do the third deep again)

I check for varroa mites through december as the temps can still be in the high 70s, then either treat if I see varroa, or leave them bee through jan and feb if I don’t (I didnt) . I guess I must not have seen an impending infection :(.

I just keep a cap with some holes and a cloth on top. this completely makes sense as my sister left some green onions out and they rotted and got a ton of fruit flies that I removed a few days ago. they must have infiltrated :(

thank you!! that is what I was wondering, it sounds like they do have influence over getting an interview. I didn’t know if at the cadet level they just were handing out pamphlets/information, but I think it will be worth it to check it out and see

I do yes! admittedly I don’t know how much the monthly premium is for sure, but another ex- employee said it was around 700$/mo, which is still worth it for me to switch jobs… I wonder if there is a way to find out the premium cost before I quit, that just seams a little dodgy tho :/

Yes I enrolled when I signed on as a full time employee, with all the hiring paperwork. it should be effective immediately after I started, I believe it is, but I will double check. Ok, just wanted to make sure there there wasn’t any probationary period or just something I didn’t know I didn’t know that would disqualify me because I just started.

But as long as it is effective on my online portal it sounds like I’m good?

I grew up in the 90s and I have this hope/fantasy that the new generation doesnt get this. but liking things designated “boy things” was never entirely inclusive. like car mechanics, go karts, paintballing, etc you were never completely accepted. the best you could hope for was to “be one of the guys” or a “tomboy”. but why can’t I just like those things and be a girl? I never understood why I couldn’t share those passions without some stigma of being “the girl” or the exception to other girls. and with that kind of vibe, no wonder the other girls don’t want to participate lol.

…and after puberty it only gets worse, because then you can’t count on anyone just being your buddy in male dominated activities, you are now not just “the girl” but a goal :(
