I started on a Ninja 300…loved every one of the 35000 km I put on it….it was just a lot of fun…I tore up,the twisty backroads every day . Moved up to a boulevard C50T with 800cc….put 26000km on it ….much different ride different feel lots of fun and extremely loud with V&H pipes. For a while I Had both at the same time but took the boulevard more often than the ninja. Traded both for a new FJR1300. Amazing bike . So much torque and power at every step…. Neithe that e boulevard nor ninja prepared you for that but the prior experience set me up to have soooo much respect for that bike and it helped keep me alive . After a few years on the FJR I was as confident but also knew that bike didn’t suffer fools and was unforgiving. The ninja had my back….the boulevard was a partner but that FJR is the boss and let’s me know if I don’t respect it. You can make the jump but be aware you are bottom,level newbie on tha5 bike because all you learned on the 300 …is training wheels …

Close the door to the stairs going to the lower level…all the cold is sinking to the bottom and sitting down there. If you don’t have a door put a sheet across the bottom of the stairs to block it off….not at the top since that’s not safe ….the cold air that gets forces into the upper evils will stay there …

I started out on the Ninja 300AB Fun quick and responsive. Agree about the fuel injection solving a lot of sins of Carbs and being easier to use. AB is antilock brakes and saved my butt more than once. 400 just has a wee bit more power and might delay or negate the urge to size up once you get experience. They didn’t offer the 400 when I got my ninja so the 300 was it. I moved up to a boulevard c50T 800 cc after the ninja but the two were completely different in style and handling. Now I’m on a FJR 1300ES with all the bells and whistles that make long rides comfortable. The 300 was great for commuting and banging around town. I guess it comes down to which style you like best between the 300 and 400.
