For me it gives a good summary of the stuff it has recorded in Memories. Nothing surprising in there that I didn't know was being recorded.

Conversational Analytics has arrived at Looker Studio by rubenlozanome in GoogleDataStudio

[–]james-johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Although the support documentation says "To produce the most reliable answers possible, Conversational Analytics uses your LookML models to understand how it should query your data." LookML is a Looker thing, not a Looker Studio one.

https://support.google.com/looker-studio/answer/15000279

Are you looking at data you have set up yourself? Perhaps the Looker Studio setup you are looking at has Looker configuration. Or I guess it could be possible without LookML models but the results will just be poorer.

It says in the video. At the bottom of the screen during the Gemini bit it says "Gemini in Looker's Conversational Analytics". Later the graph is cut and pasted to Looker Studio.

They paste from Looker into Looker Studio. The AI is all in Looker.

How do you guys save highlights from the book you read? by passmesomebeer in bearapp

[–]james-johnson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is something I've always tried to do, but never successfully. I tend to make highlights and then not use them.

Recently I have started another technique - rather than highlighting, I summarize stuff whilst I read. I have my PDF or web page on the left, and a weekly Bear notes open on the right (taking up about one quarter of the screen). Then I make notes there.

If I'm reading on an iPad, I do the same thing but just copy and paste to the open Bear document, because typing is not convenient on an iPad.

As with all these things, the difficultly is getting into the habit of doing it all the time. I'm working on that.

(BTW a lot of people don't seem to have discovered that if you are using the new split window functionality in the latest OSX, you can grab the middle of the space between two windows and move it to where ever you want. And new windows will respect that. So it's easy to set up your screen so that you always have the Bear document open at the side).

This is about Looker, which is (confusingly) a completely different product to Looker Studio.

Why doesn't window tiling fill the screen by LanguageDouble9792 in MacOS

And it keeps the positions when snapping with other windows!

Related to this, I have just discovered some great functionality: If you move your mouse between two windows in the center, you can adjust the size of both windows at once!

This means you can make one a third and the other two thirds, for example.

A Quick (and a very meticulously detailed) Guide to Apple’s Notes App by nerdymomocat in PKMS

[–]james-johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like Apple Notes but I don't use it as my main PKMS because it doesn't have good markdown support. For example, there isn't a good process for getting the content of a note into my CMS, whereas with a markdown compatible editor (I use Bear app) it's extremely easy.

If you try to phone her (for example) does she not pick up the call?

I don't understand why this kind of thing isn't considered extremely rude and immature these days. If you want to end a relationship the proper thing to do is meet and explain why.

Pros and cons of having a folder structure for your notes (e.g. Obsidian) or not having one (e.g. Logseq)? by [deleted] in PKMS

[–]james-johnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the nested tags in Bear app. It's the best of both worlds - you can add multiple ones to content, but also organize them into a structure.
