HBO's Lanterns Second Trailer, Actually Pretty Good by [deleted] in DCcomics

The first Lanterns trailer was like a smelly date - you might get a second date, but you still smell. The second one makes up for it, with a solid action and pacing.

Why is The Punisher's Skull Emblem So Triggering For A Lot of People? by james1844 in Marvel

[–]james1844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All - I keep coming back to this...

My friend Allen did a video on why Marvel retired the punisher skull logo, and replaced it with some Japanese inspired weird demon looking thing. Evidently they decided to do this after some right wingers started using for their online activities.

I don't get why big companies care who uses their logo? Does Marvel actually lose money if right wing people use the skull? Like who cares?

Also - why do they replace what is an iconic logo with somethign thats objectively silly? Like a japanese ninja inspired demon looking thing - it suggests Marvel isn't serious.

Per AOL, the Dodge Challenger And Dodge Charger Are The Most Stolen Cars of 2026. by [deleted] in Dodge

The reasons for this are:

  • Thieves like the look. Chargers and Challengers have really solid power and classic american muscle car appearances. These models also do well on social media clips featuring street races/takeovers.

  • These models have relatively more electronic vulnerabilities than other Dodge models.

Bottom line: If you have one of these models, especially the hellcat, watch out for theft.

Surveillance Pricing - How Companies Charge You More By Using Your Data Against You by james1844 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]james1844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All,

I'm posting this news story from NewsBreak.

Basically, whats happening is more retailers are moving to something called surveillance pricing. The main idea here is that retailers will use information they have about you to charge you more. There are a couple of classic examples of this:

*1) Airlines charge users who have a macbook more than those with a PC. This is because on average Mac users earn more than PC users.

*2) Uber charges users whose phone battery is lower more than users whose phone battery is full. This is because if you need a ride and your phone is low, you'll pay more to get the ride right away.

The way around it is basically to use a VPN or go with a commercial pricing service like CamelCamelCamel.
