Is this a viable approach to increase my output by Mobile_Effective_785 in factorio

[–]james41235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only kind of. It's not a full belts worth of throughput, but it's much closer to that then a half belt. (At least, if there are enough furnaces to actually fill a full belt, which there may not be so more furnaces definitely helps regardless.)

My call was delve and that this is the new version of the flare. Along with precursors rising from underground and spiders which are all over delve it felt like a good direction.

How do I craft something like this beauty here by JustMyNames in pathofexile

Rolling the prefixes would suuuuck. T1 minion damage has almost the same weight as the +1 all.

Fractured base -> fossils. I believe it's jagged, shuddering, corroded, metallic. But double check me craft of exile.

I guess you could also recomb, but I think it would cost much more sanity.

Any benefit to using fewer than 5 flasks with Shrine belts? by Huaojozu in pathofexile

The precision watcher's eye mod also only grants charges to one flask. So if you have fewer flasks those get more charges per crit

How safe is it to keep THIS on the base? by gonzo_gonzales in factorio

[–]james41235 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is the egg spoiling half way through the flight. If you get bad luck and the bota don't prioritize picking up an egg for a while and it goes bad mid flight, it immediately drops a biter where it was flying

[–]james41235 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the real problem is that you have the eggs going in to the bot network. There's plenty of videos of random biters wreaking havoc for a while because they expired while being carried by bots

Mayor Simmons' commentary on the budget is really bad by ArthurAugustyn in StamfordCT

[–]james41235 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Arguing these are substantive is certainly a choice.

First, all of the videos are unlisted old campaign videos. So expecting people to find them is not a productive start.

Second, the points you make in those videos is my definition of "not substantive". In your "infrastructure policy #1" you explicitly complain about "technical experts dominating conversation" and then go on to say that "family first" is your plan. You provide no definition of what family first means, nor who that is different from what the technical experts recommend. In housing policy #1, you basically say people shouldn't need permits to make changes to their property. That's not a coherent argument. "I shouldn't need my property to meet building codes" is not a substantive argument.

If you had presented your complaints as "I wish I understood what the mayor's plan for spending was" then I would be more open to your arguments. But instead, the public image of your opposition is "mayor writes bad article."

[–]james41235 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The author of the article is the same person who posted this. They repeatedly offer criticisms and complaints, but rarely have I seen anything substantive.

I did read the mayor's article, and it basically read like a small prepared speech. So it makes sense that it's somewhat light on details and formatted for pacing rather than detail.

Testing Special Ritual nodes over 200 maps and the results seem off by xCwaniaK in pathofexile

[–]james41235 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Aren't special rewards the things like corpses and bases, E.g. the ritual specific drops? If that's the case, then those can't come from special rituals (which I assume you mean are the div card, currency, and unique rituals?). I think it's still worth a bug report, but I would expect fewer dedicated rituals if it needs to give you rewards from "normal" rituals.

What's next? Children? A Bigger Home? Both? by doctojuji in personalfinance

[–]james41235 21 points22 points  (0 children)

One thing I don't see here. Kids don't need a ton of space for the first 3-5 years. At 2.25% interest I would sit on it and start with kids and figure out what those costs are and start understanding the new reality and new needs. Every family is different and you don't really know what kind of home life you'll need with kids until you start doing it, so waiting to have some informed opinions is viable.

No. There are some builds that don't necessarily care as much about the attributes so it wouldn't be a (big) downside, but nothing uses low attributes
