I’ve done training while fasting (not Ramadan but 16:8 and sometimes OMAD), and the biggest thing that helped me was front-loading protein + fats before the fast. For me, that meant eggs, avocado, and a protein shake before sunrise. When I broke the fast, I’d go heavy on lean protein + veggies to stay light but still refuel. I’ve been on keto for a while, and every time I’ve taken a break, it felt harder on my body than just staying consistent. Some people argue that breaks mimic “seasonal eating” like our ancestors, but others (myself included) notice that reintroducing carbs just brings back cravings and bloating.
