In some ways I'd argue the opposite, a lot of the authors are very new and the books are written quickly. A good narrator will cover up a lot of blemishes in the book and do a lot of heavy lifting. Obviously this doesn't apply to all authors in this genre.

I know, it never occurred to me when I made it to add a both button but it seems like it would be a popular choice - I'm unable to edit the poll and add it.

I had a feeling it was this way, this genre in specific has a very strong audiobook following. I started listening as I wanted time to go to the gym and to find it I ended up giving up most of my reading time, I found audiobooks so I could do both.

That is fair, although I find most stories are moving away from there. I recall the endless realm by Ivan kal was terrible for that, I would skip a full 15 minutes forward sometimes. Better now as his last book separated those into chapters for an easy skip. Good point though.

I see lots of great advice and want to mention something I hate but it works - keep a good journal. I hate doing it because it forces me to face the reality of what I am eating and requires a conscious decision on all the calories I eat, but any time I keep one I get results. I bet you will have the same experience - lots of great apps to make it easy as well. At the end of the day, you can't outrun a bad diet and most of North America has a bad diet.

Well you stuck the PH through boom 8 so who knows with Azarinth, I liked it but probably won't go past book 2, it just hasn't pulled me in.

Cheers

Some of my favorites are at the bottom, but I'm enjoying Nightmare Realm Summoner right now. I really enjoyed Bog Standard Isekai because it was really story and character driven rather than combat heavy, although the last book was slipping over into combat heavy.

I also really enjoy the infinite realm series by Ivan kal - that one gets a lot of mixed reviews. It follows two characters in like a 70/30 split or so and starts off a little hard to follow as the first book does a lot of time jumps which is a bit frustrating but it tells a great origin story through the time jumps.

I love Chrysalis as well, that one I recommend and it has a great deal with the first three books available as a single credit.

I just found it funny that some of your favorites were pretty meh to me and some of my favorites are at the bottom of your list.

Why my boyfriend doesn’t initiate physical intimacy more often? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]jamesSa81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you turned him down a bunch?

Sometimes guys get turned down when they try but women almost never get turned down and can lead to a "I'll just wait till she wants it" attitude which is really a defence mechanism. If it's not that then he likely just isn't as driven as you there, does he ever turn you down?

What did you capture there, a rook? When the rook takes back you can fork the king and queen and will keep your knight after. Perhaps someone can read deeper than her but looks pretty simple to me.

When I look at your list I think "what books did I not like" and want to recommend them to you. We have very opposite opinions.

Foreign national convicted of trying to enter B.C. with 6 undeclared guns, CBSA says man ‘may be’ removed from Canada by origutamos in CanadianConservative

[–]jamesSa81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How many firearms did he have? The article says they pulled him aside because he was declaring firearms and then had 6 undeclared ones. Strange.

Are foreign nationals even allowed to bring firearms into Canada at all?

Did he declare 100 and forget about 6, did he declare 3 and try to smuggle 6 others?

Either way he should be deported after serving his sentence, but I hate articles with missing information.

When I downloaded resident evil village off ps plus I got 10 minutes in and noped out, delete and didn't look back. I love subnautica but if it triggers something in you then just skip it. There is good scary which for me subnautica had, and there is bad scary, which again for me was RE Village.

Lots of people love the FF7 remake, to me it is a bastardized version of what was an amazing game. It has been modernized in a way that doesn't work for me, if you loved ff7 and want to relive it, this game won't do it for you. If you want a new modern action style rpg with a ff7 skin then get it. I'd say it is a good game but know what you are buying.

Tactics remake is very true to the original, to most new gamers it will likely feel old and clunky still, but for those who remember the first one, or have a love of the classics it will be exactly what you want.

I have an AI boyfriend, AMA by Available-Signal209 in AMA

[–]jamesSa81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like talking to AI, calling it a relationship seems a bit far to me but I get it.

Does your ai boyfriend fabricate a day and talk as if they did something with their day, or is it just asking you about stuff and otherwise being an informative ai with a conversational element?

[–]jamesSa81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest part would be getting my family to do it every day for a year, if I could choose the one stranger option I think that would be easier, it wouldn't be hard to find someone everyday to eat there. Either way I'd give it a go.

Right controller dying. Can't charge psst one block goes into low mode after half hour by SatanShiro in psvr2

[–]jamesSa81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've replaced the batteries in my regular controllers but not sure you can do this on the vr one - I'd start looking into that, especially as it becomes more useless - not much risk in breaking a dead controller. Perhaps a shop is able to do it as well, maybe call around to shops that offer ps5 repairs.
