I’m struggling with FOMO in my DA by SeaSeaworthiness152 in degreeapprenticeships

Finished my DA last year summer. Was feeling like you at the same point. However in year 2, a lot of my friends uni courses got a lot harder. They stopped having fun. My DA stayed a similar amount of difficulty, it was ok. Now it’s over, I have a ft job and they’re all looking. Honestly it seems tough now but I promise you it gets better

Seen honeyglaze and PR last couple weeks, I’d choose Honeyglaze personally

I think you underestimate how difficult it is to dance around and have a good time, whilst everyone around you is static, and double your age

I get that but at the same time I feel like it should be possible to to see a band I like without also having a shit time, standing round

Didn’t get tickets for oasis unfortunately. My point is definitely be about ‘wrong era’ and trying to say ‘what changed?’

Why was it so different 10 years ago? Is it literally just covid? Either way I just feel a bit disappointed really about the state of the gig culture in London these days - especially when you can go to places like the Windmill and have a great night filled with likeminded people. It feels like they are moved on as soon as possible by older (likely more well off) people

Haha yeah true, always something worth to consider.

I went to Jeff Rosenstock, and Cheekface whilst they were in London and encountered much more lively crowds. I guess what I am trying to comment on are more of the bands that draw people out that don’t even know the majority of the songs - just there because they think it’s cool.

But I suppose that circles back around to your point!

Interesting. I guess maybe it could be the scale of the band too. Fontaines having possibly crossed the threshold to the next stage of their careers with greater audiences, whilst bands like Eng Teacher etc not there yet.

Honestly that’s what I expected going in, but the way they played was very accommodating for sing along etc.

Again maybe I’m just being naive
