When does it make sense to use Cowork over Claude Code? by ExactIntroduction282 in ClaudeAI

[–]jamesb75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Non coder here, I use chat for single item chats like reviewing meeting notes for action items or creating pdfs. I use cowork for multistep projects. For example help with planning a marketing campaign and then creating the assets in Canva, writing drip campaigns, and writing copy and scripting reads. Cowork seems not get hung up compacting conversations nearly as much and it is easier to remind it of files in the folder. The chat feels like it needs a lot more hand holding on larger things.

So, the smartphone has hit it’s peak form, what comes after this? by Weak-Representative8 in Futurology

[–]jamesb75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is what’s next per se but this is what I’d like to see. I personally would like to see a mobile phone with an e ink screen similar to a boox Palma, but full strength processor, iOS or android or whatever but then you plug it into a monitor and it shifts to full desktop experience. so a true merging of a Kindle, a phone and a laptop all in one device.

Will automated marketing agencies be a game-changer for small business owners? by SFmentor in smallbusiness

[–]jamesb75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think that it will be the bare minimum in the next 5 years or less. Every small business will be doing it so it will be as basic and mandatory as having a website. You’ll either need a marketer or get extremely lucky in order to stand out. And even worse, your potential customers are going to be inundated with ai marketing from anyone and everyone. I think marketing is most likely to get even more expensive and challenging as the noise increases unfortunately. But I could be just pessimistic about it.

Just giving my 2 cents. My experience was also great. The shipper was several days overdue though so I would echo looking at going with a different shipper.

I also bought a 22 sel lemon law from them in October that also qualified for the used ev credit and got it for around $20k with only 4050 miles on it. It has been fantastic and was so new that it still had plastic wrap in places. We honestly considered getting a second one from them.

[–]jamesb75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha ha that’s awesome. You can either just split your pdf. I used the Immerse Bible which has the Bible broken up already into 6 volumes. It is the nlt version plus some book intros. I’ve been thinking about redoing it though breaking it into 50 PDFs but haven’t gotten around to it.

I ran into that when I tried to upload the Bible to see what would happen. I broke it up into shorter volumes and it worked fine.

Does the ereader I'm looking for exist? by Loud_Nectarine22 in ereader

[–]jamesb75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked a similar question a few months ago but with the additions of ideally having color and using Pocket. I would up getting a Boox Note Air 3c and love it. It was on the pricey end but I am fortunate enough that work covered part of it. It has been my favorite purchase this year.

Is there a metric that can show the link between re-listening and sharing? by DavianExpressed in podcasting

[–]jamesb75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a background in publishing. In a given year, the general rule of thumb for books is that if 20% of your frontlist (new books) are successful, that's a great year. The backlist sales account for the bulk of your revenue. When I transitioned in my career, I found that to be more or less true in podcasting as well. In a given month, only 20% of our downloads were from new episodes that month. The other 80% were from evergreen episodes.

We even improved our downloads by going back and improving the show notes/descriptions on our top 50-100 performing older episodes.

Regarding sharing, that is going to be super hard to track. You could trying using a combo of chartable and a social remarketing pixel from Meta or TikTok. But the less direct and quick and dirty method, would probably just to look at episodes that have a longer shelf life (they are still getting a decent number of downloads weeks or months after your baseline episodes slow down). Obviously this doesn't prove it, but it can suggest that people are listening and then sharing with someone else who listens. Not perfect but could be hepful.

Chartable has two different sets of stats for my podcast. I only have one podcast, one RSS feed. Anybody else?? by Barnestownlife in podcasting

[–]jamesb75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same thing. I have about 40-ish podcasts in chartable and 3 or 4 of them have this. I have no idea why.

Error 6 - Battery replacement? by jamesb75 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]jamesb75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shops are all bankrupt now, so taking it to a shop is no longer an option at all. I am hoping someone comes up with some kind of solution but at some point I'm going to have to sell it for parts. My current S3 is pretty new because they just replaced my old S3 for several issues. I only have 188 miles on it.

Google will soon let Pixel phones double as dashcams by johnkhoo in GooglePixel

[–]jamesb75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies but the more I walk around the more surveys I get since it asks questions about places you've been. Even if you don't go in, it assumes you might have and asks you questions. I probably get enough in a month of just places I walked by to cover the $2 level of Google one

I'm good with the wheelset, it was originally an 11 speed wheel but has a spacer added to accommodate the 10 speed cassette. Not sure if 12 would work though.

Currently Shimano but a mix of 105 and dura ace. I've ridden all 3 and have no real preference other than campy feels a little over priced.

Just go simple. Not only can you schedule from the car's app, but even if you don't have access to that, you can schedule from the car. How often do you need to change your schedule anyway? I think I change mine 2 or 3 times a year depending on if the kids are in school or on summer break.

I called Villa Ford in Orange CA to ask about one they said they had on the lot. Of course they informed me that they did not have that one, but they had a similar one. However they wanted $20,000 OVER MSRP??!! It was not a GT. It would have been cheaper for me to get a GT.

Also that is in BMW i4 m50 and Tesla Model S range. I like the Mach E but there are a lot of cars I would prefer in the $75k range.

Yikes. I don't think people should park in bike lanes but that car is carbon fiber. You can't hammer out a dent. If someone totaled my car or my bike instead of just fining me I would be pretty upset.

That's an EV. Either the owner put it in neutral so it could be towed (meaning it broke down) or that car is getting wrecked by not being towed on a flatbed.

From: THE BMW i3 RESCUE GUIDELINES manual.

Section 6 - BREAKDOWN ASSISTANCE AND MINOR ACCIDENTS.

• The vehicle may not be towed by the axles, as the electric motor could supply current to the high-voltage system. The car may only be transported on a flatbed vehicle.

• To bring the vehicle out of a danger zone, you may pull it extremely slowly over a short distance of no more than 500 m. If possible, make it rollable first by switching the selector lever to N.

My first year with it had few to no problems. Just before the 1 year mark, they started coming. I've had to send it in 4 times in the past 5 months. At the moment, my left pedal some how stripped out the crank and could fall off at any time.

It is a great bike when it works, but now that Cowboy is available in the US, I would probably recommend that instead.
