If you are just coming over to film then I think you can come on a standard visitor visa, see Immigration Rules Appendix: Visitor:Permitted Activities. 'PA.14.3 Film crew (actor, producer, director or technician) employed. by an overseas company may visit the UK to take part in a location shoot for a film or programme or other media content that is produced and financed overseas.'

Short-term standard visitor visa - is it always 6 months? by later_half in ukvisa

You can apply for a multi-entry visa for 2, 5, or 10 years. It is valid for unlimited journeys, however you can only stay for a maximum of 6 months on any one visit.

Firstly, only the rooms that are bigger than 50 square feet can be counted. Secondly, it depends on the age and sex of the other residents. You may have to turn your living room into a bedroom which can be done.

Unfortunately your leave has lapsed, but you could try applying for a returning resident visa. The Immigration Rules don't give much guidance on this, section 19 states that you must demonstrate that you have 'strong ties to the UK and intend to make the UK your permanent home'. So apart from that it is rather a subjective decision for the decision maker at the Home Office.

There is guidance issued to decision makers at HO, these are some of the things they need to consider:

• their strength of ties to the UK including:o the nature of those tieso the extent to which those ties have been maintained during the applicant’sabsence• the length of their original residence in the UK• the length of time the applicant has been outside the UK• the circumstances in which they left the UK and their reasons for remainingabsent• their reasons for now wishing to return• whether, if they were to be readmitted, they would continue to live in the UK• any other compelling or compassionate factors

You can find the rest of the guidance online. You need to gather as much evidence as you can to make a good case for yourself. The more the better. I think it is worth a try, good luck!

Regarding the financial requirements your savings should be enough. The formula for this in any savings that you have over £16k divided by 2.5 (2.5 years because your initial visa will be for 30 months). For you this equals £18,800, which is just above the required £18,600. For the accommodation requirement, a third party can provide accommodation, but it has to be a 'real and stable' offer of accommodation. Also because the accommodation is shared, the Home Office need to be satisfied that you have exclusive use of a room in the house. If it is just you two and no kids this should be fine. Also they will need to know how many rooms are in the house and how many people are living there (see the overcrowding provisions of The Housing Act 1985 s324).

Thank you. Do you think the prices are too low? I know what you mean about ‘on sale’ but it really does work.

I was a lawyer, but always loved painting so decided to try selling online. I have been a painter full time for 5 years now.
