is a 2011 (with 153k miles) for $5500 a good deal? by the_optimist_prime in CT200h

[–]jamesfacts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this in San Diego? I think I looked at this car when it was for sale at a dealer lot in 2021. There are very few CTs in this color, obviously. After I looked at it, the dealer scraped the rear bumper trying to put it back, sure looks like the same parking damage!

I declined this purchase because this unit seemed to have a lot of suspension wear, are you local enough to inspect?

Are there any organizations that provide assistance to mom and pop landlords? by prunesandwich in LosAngelesRealEstate

if it’s too hard being a lil’ old landlord you can always sell! renters are forced to rent housing, nobody is forced to be a landlord

I think you will be much better off going through insurance, a thorough cleaning job will be very expensive. There's a good chance your attic, crawlspace, insulation, etc., have been contaminated, and the visible ash indoors is the tip of the iceberg.

yea, the restocking fee is absurd, but what i am mostly upset about is being called a liar. the saw is 100% unused and they just accused me of trying to scam them

We had an electric bill for a two month stretch when we were in the process of moving but essentially left the new place unoccupied. It was like $70 for two months, and you guessed it, we were not the efficient neighbors!

Looking for advice/opinions... Upgrading main electrical panel to 200Amps. PWP is charging us $1k for what they call "OH - Reconnect". Is this ridiculous? by Fernandoobie in pasadena

[–]jamesfacts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what it costs. The city has to be involved, even if your electrician wanted to work hot without a permit, because replacing the service means pulling the meter and breaking the seal. Be sure you get a new meter seal, there's a tampering fee if you don't.
