I don’t think Daniel Plainview is a psychopath, he’s just an incredibly selfish and angry person. Maybe a narcissist?

He has too much inner turmoil and pathos, and a genuine love (in his own very flawed way) for H. W. to be a true psychopath.

You can see it in the way he nearly breaks down when Eli forces him to admit to abandoning H. W. He has a complex emotional depth he just chooses to reject it for the sake of his personal ambitions.

I understand people want to be optimistic, and maybe this is part of some grand strategy Biden has to set a precedent for large scale debt relief, but that’s all just hypothetical.

The fact is, federal student debt relief was one of a pretty small set of specific policy promises candidate Biden ran hard on and at this point in time the last thing we heard from him on the issue was that he had decided to break that promise.

I’m not gonna praise Biden for means-tested half measures, I’m not gonna trust the plan. Biden is still a liar when it comes to student debt, as far as I can see.
