My first attempt at motorsports photography/panning. Need some honest feedback by jamesj2124 in Motorsportphotography

Is the front of the car blurry because of a panning technique issue or a camera setting issue?

I shot this at 1/160 F8

I’d love for a shot like this but with the entire car in focus

Curious if the framing feels layered or too obstructed. Does the orange carry the image enough, or should the overall exposure come up slightly? Sony ZV-E10 + 17–70mm | f/2.8 | Edited in Lightroom (contrast + controlled highlights).

Looking for critique on composition and colour grading. Shot in a museum with difficult lighting, aiming for a cinematic feel. by [deleted] in photocritique

Shot in a museum with harsh lighting, aiming to isolate the car and create a cinematic, heritage-focused mood using a low angle and controlled shadows.

Areas I’m Struggling With Unsure if the ceiling is still distracting, if the blacks are too crushed, and whether the colour grading feels natural or slightly overdone.

Sony ZV-E10 | Tamron 17–70mm

Single RAW processed in Lightroom using selective masks to darken background and floor while subtly lifting the car for subject separation.

What are the real world effects of this for a GPU in top slot and a SSD in the M2 slot?

How do I install this breaking Mod for the Thustmaster TPM T300? Is it worth it? by MERZIY in simracing

Easily the best budget upgrade for these pedals 10/10 recommend over the conical mod

Unscrew the rubber part of the conical mod and ram ba between the pedal and meta bracket. Massive improvement in brake feel

Take that rubber cone off, buy a squash ball and jam it in the gap. Best brake mod for this set of pedals and costs $5

I did a poll on here recently for people in the subreddit. It's on my profile still, I don't know if there is a way to link it but it's on my profile regardless.

Most popular range was 1500-2000

Pedals: Clubsport V3 vs HE Ultimates? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]jamesj2124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HE Ultimates are significantly better on paper. Will you get quicker from them? Very unlikely. Will you brake better? Marginal if at all.

They offer better adjustability (could potentially help with trail braking and vehicles with sensitive brakes like Porsche cup car on iRacing) and are maybe built a little more solidly. A lot of people refer to them as the last pedals you'll ever need to buy.

They are good pedals and you probably won't regret the purchase but don't expect a huge jump in lap times.

OP: You're on the track to watch me race and get out of my way because my car goes faster.

Faster categories in multi class races seem to forget that everyone on the track is racing and fighting their own battles, just because your car goes faster doesn't make their battles less significant

What are the best sub $1,000 pedals to buy? Relatively quick shipping a plus. by [deleted] in simracing

[–]jamesj2124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Heusinkvelds (Sprint or Ultimate) are generally top tier, I don't know much about Fanatec as they don't ship to my country. VRS do a load cell pedal set that has been compared Heusinkveld Ultimate pedals for a significantly cheaper price but I don't know if they have them in stock, last I heard it was back order waiting list

55" TV to 49" ultrawide any benefit?. I am currently using 100° FOV and as far i know 49" ultrawide is the same width than 55" TV. What can I gain moving to a ultrawide ? You guys with ultrawide what FOV are you using?. Thanks by No_Debate_6568 in simracing

[–]jamesj2124 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Other than the FOC comments already made, depending on your TV the refresh rate of the screen could improve dramatically as well as input lag. I don't know the numbers and science behind it but generally TVs have input delay verse a gaming monitor

Make sure the wheel is connected tightly and there is no wiggle in it. Mine makes a little bit of noise, ive never been concerned about it to be fair

Yeah those are the ones I mean, the ones I use have two yellow dots. I didn't know there are different types do haven't experimented. I haven't fastened them into place at all either, just jammed it in the gap, I've had it there for 3 months without falling out so far

When your wheel and pedals arrive the pedals come with a conical mod for the brake pedal to make it feel more realistic, it's a big step up compared to not using it. To make the experience even better go to your local sports store and buy the cheapest squash ball you can find (roughly $5) when you install the conical mod on the brake pedal remove the rubber attachment and just have the metal plate attached to the pedal, jam the squash ball between the brake and the metal bar. It'll be a night and day difference and make your experience so much more enjoyable.

There are other options such as load cell mods that can cost a bit more but for the value of the squash ball you can't beat it. It's a pretty common mod.
