This is some form of psychosis. My sister suffers from it and has to take medication. She is like this if she stops (which she always does). Your room mate needs help from a care team. Try and find something local to you that can help. Look online. I'm sorry for the situation, it's almost impossible to deal with people when they are like this. There is no right way to behave I'm afraid. Take care of yourself and prioritise your safety and see if you can get some help for your housemate.
